    Default Problems on adding new family traits...

    Hey guys! I have a thought that if I could make some new traits which can only be gave by their fathers to the sons, just like 'House of Amphipolis' or 'House of Persepolis' which will increase the character's influence or personal-security in my RTW campaign. And I added the scripts just as same as the ones in the FATW (which are actually called 'House of Telcontar' or 'House of Elfhelm') and renamed all the traits and triggers, and modified the triggers at the same time, of course. I did this all by the tutorials. But unfortunately, I've caused CTDs by adding them incorrectly.
    So I wish there is someone who can help me dealing with this problem, and I'm very grateful to him/her.

    Have you used Squid's Anc&Trait Validator to check for errors? You must probably have made a typo somewhere.

    (Why is the Exheir antitrait to it?)

    Oh, sorry... That's a paste-mistake. And I've used the validator and it gave me nothing wrong...

    Then you might have not 'put' the traits properly in descr_strat, can you post here a bit of code?

    Adding this trait is the only thing you did before it crashed? You haven't changed anything else?

    Eh... Let me think about that... I've added 3 traits in total, they were House of Persepolis, House of Amphipolis and House of Alexandropolis. And then, I put them to my seleucid family members separately, and went straight on I started the game. Then it crashed.
    So, does that mean that these traits cannot be put together in a family?:hmmm:

    No, I think there would be such a problem. But I notice you have a "seleucid general's guard cavalry early" unit for your generals, which is not defined in vanilla RTW EDU. Are you using a mod?

    No, I'm not using a mod, that unit "seleucid general's guard cavalry early" was defined by myself using "Greek Royal Cavalry" as general's bodyguard and it works well before I undertook to add the family traits. And what's more, I tested that again with only one trait "House of Persepolis", the game did not crash...
    Oh, previously I have set some rebel generals using the names which I like in the descr_strat.txt, and when the game begin I will bribe them, so I put the traits within their traits' blank and deleted the condition "FactionType seleucid". The codes are here:

    First thing, are you using -show_err, second just because it passed the validator doesn't mean there aren't errors in the traits, the current version of the validator, although much improved, doesn't yet catch all errors.

    Yes, I'm using -show_err, but the CTD just does not gave me any tips... that makes the whole thing much more complicated ,I think. So I will try to test them separately again, that makes me feel like flying with no sights...
