    Default The Sealed Knot

This might sound realy geeky but I'm part of the Sealed knot civil war reenactment society. Naturaly I was pleased to hear about a mod like this and I'm downloading it as I type.

I was just wondering, are there any other knotters on here? And if so what regiment?

Im a pikeman in Grenvile's (a royalist regiment so guess who I'm gonna play first?)

Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?

    Hi mate,
Sorry to say I'm not a member although I had a lecture in university just yesterday about re-enactment and its benefits etc etc. We were taught about the Sealed Knot and a bit of its history. I myself in fact watched a Sealed Knot re-enactment at Caldicot Castle a few years back and it was very enjoyable. The lecturer kept on asking me what was it like etc etc as he was a member of the 23rd Welsh Fusiliers re-enactment society.

So, I'm not a member but I do know what you're talking about!
    Cheers!

Incidentally Ive been playing this mod the last few days and am really enjoying it. It fits nicely in with one of the modules I'm studying about the civil war.

Ha! I can beat that for geekiness! I'm a Knotter (Knutter?), of Charles Gerrard's Regt. My very first battle after I joined up was that very same battle at Caldicot. 'twas a good weekend.

There's atleast half a dozen members of the sealed knot that frequent this forum.

I'm curious to know how the SK members here heard about For king or Country? Did anyone buy M2TW specifically for it?

    Cheers

At least one that I know of. I touted FKoC on a flight sim forum and got a favourable reaction from a chap that's since signed up here.

I guess ex-knotters count lol. You answered Alpha's question though

I found a pic of me at Bishops Hull, the last muster I went to

Im the one in the very rusty helmet. Most of this Pike block was made of Slannings, I'm the only Grenville Pikeman lol.

As a few of you know, I'm one... *reallygeekyfacesmilie*

Godolphins RoF but probably back to Ruperts Foote next season.

I'd recommend it to anybody with an interest in military history, drinking, fighting, being a doormat, being caked in mud, being wet and cold.

you sound like officer material to me! can you wear a rediculously beplumed hat and say things like "ifaith"and "charge ,bold lads im right behind you" ? if so a career in the kings guard beckons!

We need a portaloo's mod imho, I'm sure you'd agree Leonn.

To answer the question... I know of atleast three people who are reenactors who I've got to come and get the download and atleast one of those had to go out and buy the game.

A lot of reenactors don't have great machines for running games in my experience, you build a site for them with a single animated gif and they start to smoke.

portaloo? if they are anything like the things we used to have we"d have to change the game to survival horror.

Hm that would be interesting!. Im sure they have certain Civil War(American) re-enactments here in the states as well!. But sadly here its really 40+ aged people that do it..

That would be intresting. Wonder if there are any Rev. War re-enactment societys in the U.S. It would be quite interesting.

Anyway I love this mod! The downside is it feels a little too small. Like Scotland is just a puny little village.. I love this game because you have to rely on the pikes alot.

There were very active American English Civil War re-enactors about ten years ago. They either came over here and joined in with the British events or stayed at home and re-enacted skirmishes between factions in the 'New World'. Might be worth a google search to see if they're still active and expanded.

As a lapsed re-enactor, this mod brings memories of enjoyable weekends flooding back. It somehow captures the indefineable chaos and spectacle that we all know and love.
