Yesterday (Thursday) morning the Scores were:

8/9/10 for Giovi
7 for D| Need
5/6 for Tzar.

Potw 113:

Lord Vader's crappish picture went from 1 Vote to 16 Votes
- withing 12 hours.

After investigation, it was revealed that he had sent PM's to his buddies, advertising and begging for votes.

We don't know about the exact situation in PotW 123, but with the given evidence, it is much likely that this vote is faked/planned.

I actually like Tzar's picture.

I think both cases are clear: they have breached the advertising rule.

3. Advertising of the PotW and UESW contests is allowed, for example in signatures. Threads or PMs for the purpose of advocating nominees is prohibited. Those who breach this rule shall be automatically disqualified from the current competition and from all other competitions for 3 months.

And even if there were no advertising rule, this is clearly against the spirit of the competition. You shouldn't vote for contestants, but for pictures.

I'm very disappointed.

This scandal will have an effect on the AAR and ToTW competitions too, obviously.

it is hard to controll if some one is asking for votes. but in this case it is obvious someone used his comercial skills to get some votes. :hmmm::hmmm::hmmm::hmmm:

I don't think that would be the right move. This would remove a part of appriciation to all the great editors around here.
And yes it's pretty strange that Tzar suddenly got like 14 votes in one night It doesn't seem right.
And about picture of the week 113 I don't know as I wasn't around here then

I think the medals are a great encouragement for ppl to contribute to PotW.
For some they are too encouraging, but we have to accept that, if we want to keep the medals.
