Default Does France Have The Most Influence In The EU?

    what do you think?
or, if not, attempts to wield the most influence?
    regarding the EU bank:
The bank's independence has notably come under intense criticism since the election of Nicolas Sarkozy as French President. Sarkozy has sought to make the ECB more susceptible to political influence, to extend its mandate to focus on growth and job creation, and has frequently criticised the bank's policies on interest rates.

    also,
France 'seeks control' of EU central bank

would you say it's fair that the majority of EU policies are geared towards giving france the most goodies?

Most certainlly the subsedising of French farmers is out of controll, or one might even call it insane and most certainlly a destroyer of African farming.

Also Sarkozy is a feisty little fellow. Hes like that guy herassing all the girls in the bar every friday night, gets -slapped 54 times and still runs of with a hot chick at the end of the night.

Pretty good, Germans lately have developed the abilllety to take , espescially from our friends from France. On the other side we have many common principals aposed to the UK fo instance. We both are pretty idiologic left-wing countrys comprared to the evil rest of the west.

I think its only a matter of time before the Brits probably pull out and keep there money to themselves.. either that or we will integrate further into the E.U. by joining the euro..

Im also very sceptic about many of the EU descissions, and it needs many reforms around the way. However, eventually Im convinced its the right thing to stand behind, although it costs financial sacrifices also to my country. If the damn thing is handeld right it would only benefit us all.

On topic: France needs to give in on their farming-subsudies. Let them sacrifice for once!

I wish we had already done that it would show Europe that we are serious about the EU instead of this indecisiveness that we seem to teeter on constantly.

As to whether France dominates the EU.... it should naturally as it is one of the primary members and one of the stronger members of the EU. However i think it does need to realize that the EU is no longer just seven nations but a continent spanning group some of which perceive it's influence on the EU as a bit suspicious (thinking about the UK opinion here).

I would say that Germany has the biggets influence but France is very close. The true question should be:Are Germany and France ruling EU?

I agree. I have no preference for joining the euro or not joining the euro but would rather we commit to something than continue with this about. It's important that Britain act decisively on the matter so that the continent knows where we stand and more importantly the British people know where they stand.

Let's just say that the Germans buy cooperation within the EU. France is just bigger than the rest and thus takes advantage of German "purchased cooperation" more in the aggregate but the smaller states win on a per capita basis. Ultimately, nothing gets done without German/French agreement.

This is why I support a massive re balance and check over the EU. It's simply unfair and unbalanced.
There are already to far many "checks" which make reforms no matter how well intended and nessecary they are difficult to enact. The decision making process is currently far to slow and ineffective and to much power is given to the national head of states which in most cases don't act in the common interest of all EU members.
Frederick II of Prussia: "All Religions are equal and good, if only the people that practice them are honest people; and if Turks and heathens came and wanted to live here in this country, we would build them mosques and churches."
Norge: "Give me a break. Nothing would make you happier than to see the eagle replaced with a crescent."

Ummon:"enforcing international law will require that the enforcers do not respect it"
Olmstead v USA:"Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that in the administration of the criminal law the end justifies the means-to declare that the government may commit crimes in order to secure the conviction of a private criminal-would bring terrible retribution. Against that pernicious doctrine this court should resolutely set its face."

Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who can't defend themselfs.
When you stand before god you can not say "I was told by others to do this" or that virtue was not convenient at the time

    @Exarch

1.No one is raping the UK economicly, thats just UK populist talk.
2.If anything, the UK is raping the shrinking middle and under-class around Europe together with their big bro called US of A "economicly", by basicly setting out extreme neo-liberal economical/poltical rules, that everyone eventually needs to follow if they also want to compete in this globalised world. Germany and France actually opposed many of that the last decades, but always got blocked by the mentioned bros.
3.Look around the EU threads and you will get an broader idea of what I mean.

France most certainlly is profiting enourmus from the EU, Germany allot less. The German Industrie, multinationals etc are offcourse the winners in this situation, but the majorety of Germans have seen a decline in income and social-rights due to the many effects of globalisation and admittingly our legally-corrupt and chronic incabable political-class. Also remember that Germany has to stem the ex-DDR on its own, that costs 80 billions a year since 18 years, and gets very little help from the EU.

Also remember the trick Sarkozy tried to pull of with the "mediteranian.league". He tried to let only France and Italy and Spain a bit, profit from the agreement, but whas whisseld back by the EU.

I admit there is a slight exagguration in my earlyer post, and that all of our nations a responseblle for their own wellbeeing. Nonetheless I strongly believe in my somewhat leftish point of vieuw concerning this issue.
