I don't know if anybody has said it before but I think that the music in TIC is very nice. It really gives a special atmosphere to the game. Really a good job in my opinion![]()

Your absolutely right! the music in TIC is fantastic. It really helps immerse you in ancient Iberia. Of course the units, game play, battles and map are all top notch as well.
Yes, and now that they gave me a new laptop at work, I can finally try it the way it's meant to be played! -- with huge units on all max settings at 1920x1200 and no lag!
ps: Heh, probably sounds strange coming from one of its developers, but my own box is so old, it can only handle the campaign map. Too slow for battles, so I autoresolved most of them when I wrote the code for scripted missions and tested.

When I try to play max resolution on my monitor which is - 1680x1050xx32, I get blurry Building cards although my unit cards are fine. It bugged me enough to revert back to minimum settings - 1024x768x16.
On Topic:I hope the team can find musicians for FOE that are as talented as ones who produced the music for TIC.

They let us work from home sometimes and the only rules are: 1. Confidential customer data must be encrypted when the laptop leaves the building, and 2. no pirated stuff. And this is a pretty top of the line laptop, Dell Precision, easily worth US$3K+.

Then you're lucky!
My current laptop is a Dell Inspiron 9400 Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.0 Ghz,4MB, 667 MHz FSB), 17" WUGXA Screen, 2048MB 533 MHz DDR SDRAM and 256Mb Nvidia GeForce Go 7900GS running Windpws XP. I paid just under £1.4K for it back in October 2006.
I somehow prefer my desktop though....
Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X9770 @3.2Ghz, 8Gb RAM PC3-10666C7 1333MHz DDR3, 2 x Assus 1Gb Nvidia GeForce GTX280 GDDR3 (SLI) running Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate Edition.
I paid a lot for it.....

Cough - not one but two GTX 280s (in SLI mode)......
Back on topic....
Yes, right from the 'loading screen' the music in TIC is worth the effort and the musicians should be congratulated - I don't know where MCM found them, he certainly has found some very good connections out there in the world.

Yeah, my old work laptop is a Dell Inspiron with almost the same specs, except the video card is ATI. I'm keeping it, too, until they ask for it back!
It's going to be at least another 6 months before I buy a new desktop. Just paid off my mortgage so now trying to decide if I want a new computer or if should start saving for a new car.![]()

This is the buildings from RTR VII TIC (again 1920x1200):
It must be the fact you are playing EB there......
OK, again back on topic - my understanding is that the musicians that did TIC will also do FoE, or at least one of them will.

OK sounds good! The music should be top shelf then.
BTW I get the same blurriness with EXRM. I'm not sure if I ever played max resolution on TIC.
I don't know if the cause is your screen or your graphics card....
Not if it comes from me! I am fairly sure that I read that in the dev forum at some stage.
I'm sure Muizer, Annelin or Tony83 would know more about that than me - I'm on the fringes and happy to stay there!![]()

About blurriness in TIC, it happened to me too several times. After playing for a while TIC, suddendly, after a battle I found the flags in the campaign map all blurred. What's the problem?? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.![]()

@melqart: I've never experience a glitch like that before...could be a graphics card issue. Although the pc I first played TIC on was ancient by computer standards as was the graphics card. Post a screen if you have one I'd be interested in seeing the issue you describe.
@Brusilov: Could very well be a graphics card issue, I have the basic one that came with by Dell pc. However I hope to upgrade in the next couple of months as I intend to buy Empires and hopefully I can play it on decent settings.
The music is really fitting, that bit that I can hear!
Sorry to post here, but I only hear any TIC music when engaging in a battle, the rest of the time there is music silence...
Has anyone else had this? Otherwise TIC runs absolutely fine...
