crusades pointless?

hi Sicilian Vespers. Whenever I take a Turkish ( I forgot their new name) settlement as a western power, i am unable to build good units. i take sis much of the time, but i can only build simple militia spear men and archers. and no matter how many things i build, i can't recruit anything new. even if i have the best possible stables, it still takes 10 turns to get Armenian cavalry.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't like wasting people's time. I love your mod, Sicilian Vespers. Keep up your great work.

Assuming you are a Crusading faction (ie. France, England, HRE, or Sicily), you will need to build the special Crusade builidngs and proclaim a Crusader state. Have a look in the building browser.
