Well there are quite a few ways you can do it, though most people use two:

    1. Find the Print Screen button on your keyboard. Everytime you want to take a screenshot, press the PrintScreen button, then pause the game and Alt+Tab out of it. Open up a program like Paint, paste it there, then save it.

    2. Download the program called "Fraps" (the trial version will do). With that you can take ingame screenshots with by pressing a specific key on your keyboard that can be chosen by yourself. You can also choose where you want the image saved.

And there is this thread here where I also helped someone else with their screenshot problems. You might like to read through that as well.

I know that it's annoying at first, but it's really easy.

    1. Look on the top-right of your keyboard, near delete. You should see a key with Prnt Scrn or something similar.

    2. Press this and its takes a snapshot of your screen AND copies it to your clipboard, whch is important.

3.Go to paint and do ctrl-v to paste. Paint is great because you can annotate and edit. Svae AS A JPEG, and then, when posting, click manage attachments, near the bottom.

    4. Upload the picture, and then click on the link to get the picture's url. Copy this (the address bar) and open up the upload image option - paste the URL here.

Sounds complicated but isn't. Remember, as it's on the clipboard, you can only have 1 saved at a time.

I used to use this method until I discovered FRAPs. With FRAPs, you don't have to Alt-Tab out of the game and paste the contents of your clipboard into an image editing program. FRAPs automatically saves a 24-bit bitmap of your entire screen to a directory. You can then use Paint or Photoshop after the fact to crop, edit, or annotate your picture. You can also use Paint to save the BMP to PNG or JPG format for use with webpages.

Of course, the tremendous benefit to this as I found out from other AAR writers on this forum is that, because FRAPs instantly writes the contents of your clipboard to a file, there's no overwriting of the clipboard like you'd have with your method. You can literally snap dozens of shots in a single animated sequence, allowing you to get superb, photo-quality shots of events like the death of an enemy general, which is nearly impossible using the method you describe above.
