Default All my peacefull citizens have been replaced with soldiers

I am new to the Total Realism mod so please forgive me if this question has been asked before. I attempted to search for the topic but came up empty-handed.

I think the mod is amazing and it has rekindled my interest in RTW. However, there is one little detail that troubles me. When I go to view the grandeur of a large Roman city at peace in the battle map, I find that all my citizens in togas have been replaced with fully equipped soldiers.

I'm not sure if this is the result of all the new units in the game overwriting the citizens or if this was done on purpose by whoever designed the mod. Nonetheless, is there any way to restore the original citizens without affecting the rest of the mod or am I stuck in a permanent state of martial law?

Granted this is a small price to pay for all the extra content, but for a team that adamantly endorses realism, surely someone will empathize with me.

    :hmmm:

IIRC there's a limit to the number of models the game can have, so martial law is the price for the many models one sees in battles.

Welcome to the boards! I'm glad you're enjoying the mod. I think I can explain that little detail.

As you may be aware, there are a limited number of unit models we can have in the game. We had to take out all of the peasants to make room for more accurate units. Unfortunately, the peasants were probably used to populate the street scenes. So now we have more accurate units in battles, but all the cities look like they're under martial law. Sorry. It's not an ideal situation, but we've put our emphasis on the battles.

Edit: Pannonian said it better. I should really update my tabs more often.
