Sarah Palin - what is it that makes her so persistent? The US election is now clearly over, McCain/Palin lost and she argueably contributed to that defeat as well. From what you have seen and heard of her, Palin's knowledge and intelligence seems rather limited; half the country laughs about her, even many Republicans aren't exactly fond of her.

So why is she still around? Why don't the media and the people simply silently bury her so we don't have to see that awful woman anymore?

Look at the Democrats. Look at what the moron Al Gore went on to do. Besides, Palin is still a Governor and the majority of the Republican party love her. Most of the stuff that came out saying the Republicans hated here were blatant lies and no, she is no less intelligent then any of the others who were running. She opened a new door for the Republican party. Much of our focus is now going to our younger Governors. Actually, my personal dislike for Palin has to do with her very limited knowledge of quite a few important issues. She keeps acting as if she knew a lot but everything she says contradicts that. Some of her remarks are simply stupid as well. She has experience with foreign policy because Alaska is close to Russia? I'm sorry?
Not to mention her blatantly ignoring questions during interviews and just saying things that were simply not related to the question in the slightest bit.

People don't just insult for her 'obvious ignorance' they criticized for bringing her family on the trail for accepting the wardrobe given to her by her party, and for advising her daughter to chose life.
You just based your entire argument on her inexperience which you are assured of due to her failing a few interviews. There was obviously a difference this time around as the left was successfully able to portray her as a new Dan Quayle with no experience, granted that was helped by an press interview and the decision to not have her go on the news but it seems that she was judged with very little evidence.

She was never given a chance by the vast majority of people and posts like these ignorant ones would never be made about a male politician.

Maybe in 2012 we'll be lucky enough to have her run against the democratic nominee if she takes the same approach. I am not going to dismiss the notion that she could turn out to have a good policy and the competence to enact that policy upon what is always a influential board of advisors whilst still taking advice. However, none of that was asserted in any of the interviews I saw featuring her, which might be attributed to the fact she was furthering McCain's agenda. The fact that I heard more from her accusing the left rather than strengthening the tenets of her own policies though does not aid my view of her.

And I have no problem with women in a position of power. I vote for Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer for the California Senate and find them to be duly capable of their tasks.

As for this "celebrity" status, Americans need to grow up collectively, the fascination with 'stars' when it extends to politics that you hang on their every appearance as though they are better than any other person due to face time and opportunity is just silly.
