    Icon5 RomeShell doesn't work on Alienware m15x

Hello, I have Rome: Total War Gold Edition, which I have played on a previous Compaq computer, on which the RomeShell cheat box appeared, whenever I pressed the tilda key. Anyway, I have recently bought a brand new, Alienware m15x notebook, with a NVIDIA 8700 M GT graphics card. Everything works great and I can play the game on max settings with no lag, but whenever I try to open the RomeShell cheat box. The tilda key just doesn't work. I have tried typing in the tilda key in word documents and it works great, but the key just doesn't correspond to the RomeShell box in the game. I was wondering if anybody else has a similar problem and how to fix it. Thanks, David Foster.

Is your tilde key the one above tab? Apparently, the cheat box requires the key above tab and with different keyboards this can be a different symbol. It is always the key above the tab key though.

Yes, you need the key above tab, not just the tilde key.

P.S. I don't know what the Romeshell cheat box has to do with Multiplayer though....

Yes, the key above the tab key, is the tilda key, I've tried opening MedievalShell in Medieval II: Total War, and it works great, but in Rome: Total War nothing happens at all, very odd. I know that they're are no connection issues, but, I suppose that it might have something to do with hard drive, or some other feature that disables RomeShell. It works on my other COMPAQ computer, hmm, I can't think of anything at all that would really stop RomeShell from working, especially if it works in Medieval II: Total War. :hmmm:

I had the same problem, and this fixed it.

    Solution
Go into Device Manager -> Keyboards.
Right-click "Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 Keyboard", choose "Update Driver Software".
Choose "Browse my computer for driver software",
Choose the option "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer“
Make sure "show compatible hardware" is checked, then select "HID-compliant device" and click next. Click any remaining "Closed" buttons after Windows has installed the driver.

    Hope that helped

You're a bit over three years too late there.
