Son of Simetrical
First off, marijuana is not addictive. An active user, I've gone on many long breaks with no trouble whatsoever. As for the health issue, yes, there are health risks involved. yet, no one has ever died of marijuana use (unlike legal drugs such as cigarettes and alcohol) and not to mention, there are non-risk ways of consuming cannabis, mostly through baked goods (brownies being the usual way). I say, legalize and regulate just like alcohol. In the case of marijuana, the pros outweigh the cons.
Obviously, my opinion is biased, and I will be the first to admit it, but I think the facts speak for themselves.

The argument for legalizing or at least decriminalizing marijuana made sense to me even before I began experimenting with it (note: I did not admit to using it). This will be an interesting discussion is pretty much all I have to say.
Edit: Lol nevermind. I just read the opening argument and it was like a one-sentence ridiculous beginning.

This debate was fail. I am not a user but if someone wants to join me on the pro side of a legalization of marijuana in the US debate in a 2v2 debate I will gladly debate someone.

Odd that some people declare themselves anti or pro something, but when you ask them why they say they don't know that much about it. It would have been an interesting debate though.
In a free country, you should be allowed to do whatever you want with your body. Marijuana may or may not be harmful, that is irrelevant, it should be up to the individual to decide, not some nanny state.

In the end, you lose if you smoke pot. You screw up relationships, waste your money, and if you have it on you and your stopped by the police, you are charged. Debate all you want, whine all you want, it's still illegal for good reasons.
The majority of people use it responsibly. And why thedoes the government stop me from screwing up relationships and wasting money if I want to? It's not their responsibility, it's mine.
No, It's not illegal for good reasons, it's illegal for really, really, really bad reasons.

1. The idea that it screws up relation ships depends on the people in the relationship. I have seen it screw up some relationships, because one or the other party was against it. However, i have seen relationships (some involving people over 35) where Marijuana did NOT hurt their relationship. As a matter of fact, sometimes it HELPED.
2.I could Argue that it only is such a waste of money because it is illegal. The price of any quantity of marijuana is largely a "smuggling fee" it would be much cheaper if it were legal.
3. Wouldnt happen if it was legal.

The argument kind of died right there.
Marijuana has never done anything for me, I prefer alcohol by far, but there's no reason for it to be illegal. It's no more harmful than tobacco, and considering average tobacco users smoke a greater volume than average marijuana users, it's probably better for you.

It can cause problems to your health

Isn't it ironic that the war on drugs has caused the death of so many innocents while marijuana has directly killed none?
