Stupid SS question

Ok, I'm sure this is something I just missd somewhere. I've been away for a while and just installed and started playing again, so I've missed some stuff and don't have time to wade through hundreds of pages of posts to find out.

What is the deal with the recruitment of some of the higher end units? (IE: Longbomen, Yeomen archers etc for england) What unlocks them? is it purely time related for some trait?

Please give me ahand guys. I'm pulling my hair out here. ok, actually I'm totally bald, but you know what I mean. lol

oh yeah. I'm using the latest ss and patch. with RR and bygs

Longbowmen aren't recruitable until 1285(IIRC) due to RR restrictions. Units become available as different times depending on their armor/weapons.

Yes and just in case you did not know this, if you downloaded 6.1 and installed with bygs GRIII you need to download a fix that is on his subforum thread.
