So NYC has this rule that homeless shelters run by faith base organizations have to be open 5 days in a week or they cant open at all. The weather in NY has been odd, not less then a week ago it was like low 60s and felt like spring this weekend we get hit with a cold spell, with temperatures dipping into high teens tonight so naturally you figure if a shelter was closed they would open to account for this weather right? Well no go according to city officials, since the churches werent open few days ago they cant house homeless people this weekend. I cant phantom the logic of it that it would order churches not to house homeless people because they werent open Mon-Wed. It really takes government to come up with these brilliant ideas that fail to see the holes in regulations when they allow for no exceptions.
