Turks vs. Egypt?

Definelty Egypt, depends what you class as "funny" i play as Egypt because i then help those Byzantines and the Portugese defeat Spain and the Moors plus the Byzantines to kill those Turks..

Turks, I like their troops more and egypt is too far from other countries. However, I haven't ever played with Egypt. Because of the reasons above I never started an Egypt Campaign.

I definitely choose Egypt before The Turks. Most of the players are pretending that Turks' janissari units are incredible, but somehow i don't like them. I like the starting position of Egypt more than Turks'. Anyway Egypt > Turks.

I prefer Turks or 'Seljuks' as the mod calls them as I'm fascinated with the history of that area. Ottoman empire ftw.

Turks all the way imo, like jerk says, their Janissary units are great, the only problem with them is they don't have a huge selection in heavy cavalry, and the choice they do have, Qapaluku or w/e is great, but you can only get them late in the game. Their missile cavalry is good, and their artillery and janissarry troops are great, and they can be trained in cities. You can solve their heavy cavalry problem by hiring kwarezmian cavalry mercenaries and aremanian cavalry.

I really like the janissary archers myself, all janissary units look unique.

The moors have christian guard as a different looking unit, egypt only has the standard muslim appearances. They really could use some special looking units.

Fatimids are probably more fun but the Turks are more unique and interesting.

I'd say Egypt. I just started a Campaign with them and made an army of Arab Cavalry and killed a full stack Spanish army of spearmen. Light calvary...sure lol

I started 1 campaign with turks, their start is ugly like hell, big empire and bad settlements.But the thing make them be preffered to egiptians are they look fabulous.I always preffered catholics because they look wonderfull and turks are the most lovely units in all muslim area.

Turks suck horribly in early campaign but total smack in late. If you play early, be prepared for lots of converting forts into cities.

Imo I like Turks better, you get to be the underdog competing with byzantines and the superpower.

Does really matter, I always ally the other one when I play because I united all Muslims

Frederick pretty much summed it up, I like to play united muslims too, the only bad part about it is that when you ally with all the muslim factions, the mongols always go to war with the kwaz's and then the fatimids join in on the action and you have to be the mediator between them.

Definitely the Fatimids. They are one of the most beautiful factions out there and their architecture is gorgeous as well. The problem with the Turks is that they are not represented as they should be, you have the Seljuks as a Turkish faction and as one of their units is Janissary Heavy Infantry!!??...
Its totally unhistorical and false to have Janissary as the Seljuk's infantry because we all know that Janissaries are Ottoman creation and they only started being used by the Ottomans long after Seljuks disappeared from the historical scene. I think it is the Broken Crescent that presented Turkish faction properly, you have The Turkish Sultanate which is the Ottomans, and you have The Great Seljuks. That's is the only proper way to have the Turkish faction represented.
Therefore, I am definitely saying that my favorite Muslim faction is: FATIMIDS

I agree with the Seljuks think, seriously weren't they like the predessors to Kwarezmians? IMO should just call it Turks if not Ottomans
