    Default A confusing problem

I am playing as the Julli. I wanted to keep the other romans mostly in italy so i invaded greece on about the 20th turn. The brutti were beseiging corith so i rushed up and also beseiged it. The next turn i ttacked and let the brutti capture it for me. I captured the city because I started the attack. But the brutti were still beseiging it. I couldnt sally because i didnt have popular support. After 7 turns i lost because food was out. I lost my FL and my FH along with my best army. Any one else seen anything like this?

My Great Lord Feloric has not seen anything like this. However, he also doesn't fully understand your question. Are you saying the Brutti kept sieging you even after you captured it? If so then my Lord believes it is some weird AI glitch that the game frequently has.

Tell your lord that this problem can be solved by bribing the Brutii.
You can't bribe other Romans until you are at war with them!

Yes the Brutti were still beseiging the city after i had captured it but were still my allies. It would make sense if it was a glich i suppose. I've just never seen anything like this before.

I didnt have any diplomats nearby and i had no cities in greece to build any. Also i couldnt send any from italy because gaul sent 3 stacks right after and i had to build new units instead. I also didnt have enough money to bribe 3 FM with a full stack.

That is not true. I have bribed them before as the julli. It just takes lots of dennari. Which i didnt have enough of yet. You can bribe anyone even if you r not at war.

Unfortunately you must have a previous patch siege king, on the main menu go to options then look in the top right hand corner for a number, 1.1, 1.3 or 1.5.

Same here, I agree with Siege King, I would bribe passing Brutii armies literally every turn in a Julii campaign and then disband them simply to keep them from expanding. (And this was before any civil war.)

EDIT: Coming back to this days after i posted, I realize I made a mistake. I would bribe passing Brutii armies every turn in a Julii campaign, not Brutii campaign...that would be quite odd if I was to do it in a Brutii campaign.

    lol. That's real funny.

THough I was very irritated when I was next to a city and the brutii wree besieging(scipii) and I won the town before their men were even in the gates but they got it. I think the player should always get the property after any siege battle they take part in.

Can anyone back me up here? On vanilla RTW 1.5 you cannot bribe other Roams before the civil war, the option simply does not exist, or at least it has not for me in 3 years of RTW.

I know I've done it before the Civil War ... I think, once you pass a certain point (perhaps being *able* to start the CW), you gain the ability to - you can break your alliances, for example, if one of the other factions declares war on a faction you don't want to declare war on.

U might be right about that Entropy Judge. I am pretty sure i have done it b4 but i just started a campaign to check if u can at the beginning and u cant. So I just dont know. At the begining u cant but ill check later if u can later in the game.

If you have version 1.5 you don't have an option to bribe them until you are at war with them!
