where are the (custom?) battle files?
Hi, I wonder where the files fore the battles are hidden:
I work on a mod, have created an own mod folder, all worked since months. Now sadly since yesterday due to a PC-crash the battle on ' british grassland' dont works anymore (location is in the open sea and units die suddenly after start). All other battle-grounds work.
Surprisingly in custom_locations nothing has changed and in orginal BI and RTW the grassland battle still works ok.
So I wonder where are the additional files hidden, what files I have to copy again from my BI folder to my mod-folder to fix that?
(sorry I have not found any info in the forum yet besides custom_locations)

Well, if the map has changed since the last test you did on British Grassland, the coordinates in custom_locations.txt might now be pointing in the sea. Have you checked that they are still valid? (it isn't very clear from your post)

Re: where are the (custom?) battle files?
Yes they are the same like in orginal, that's what is confusing me.
'
custom_location British Grassland
{
location 123 96
image data/menu/grass1.tga
sett_locked no
summer no
}
'
Also I have not changed the map files on that part,... exept changed cities locations in map_regions.tga... ah! ...maybe thats the prob?

I don`t know if that causes a CTD, but check that the location from custom_locations is not the one where you`ve moved a city. You can see the correct in game coordinates using the map_regions.tga if you flip it upside down in the image editor that you`re using.
Also, somewhat related... In rtw there were a few battles with custom tiles. Like Grassy Flatland and Londinium. Those are not mentioned in custom_locations, but in the descr_battle file that each has. All of them having their own sub-older in Rome - Total War\data\world\maps\custom. If you make changes to your map don`t forget to edit the coordinates for these ones too.
