    Icon1 Pictures inside the game

    Hi,

I'm wandering what pictures will be add to the game. DOTS has already one of best arts I ever seen in the MTWII.

It will be great to implement some real pictures from history for each country.

I have also one idea. Is there posibility to force royal dynasty to have historical sons and doughters? With oryginal face pictures? It will be fun. Of cours dynasty will have aslo random new sons and doughters also adopted sons but the core of historicaly royal dynasty will be constance.

Put in this thread greatest nad usefull for the game pictures from you country.

Ok here are some of Polish pictures from battles and important events. Also some kings and duke portrets. All by Jan Matejko 1838 - 1893

Polish first royal dynasty - "Piast":
Founder of dynasty - Mieszko Piast (christianization of Poland in 966 A.D., his son was first king of Poland.

Mongols just arrived in Poland for couple months, burn some citys also capital, kill a lot of people including King and simply go to the Hungary. This was therrible times. I hope that Mongols in DOTS will be that same agresive and cruel

Don't worry by the language just simply see pictures. By the way my english is very poor and I use google translate:
    http://translate.google.com/translate_t?sl=pl&tl=en#pl|en|
Just simply copy and paste the entire sentence.
Google dont pay me for this

Don't worry about my name sake crushing poland...
Easy, I dont worry about that

Isn't there still a festival in Poland that re-enacts the mongol invasion ?
Yes, in June 2001, in the 760 anniversary of the battle there was reconstruction of the battle. Now
knights fraternity "The Fellowship of Prince Henry the Pious" organized events XIII century referring to the tradition of the Battle of Legnica. Unfortunately I dont see this battle.

I was on the another famous ivent Battle of Grunwald from 1410. Here is some my private pictures and lo-res movies. I highly recommended to watch this:

    155MB, packed by freewere "7zip"

The purpose of this post was to bring together in one place interesting historical paintings depicting the history of individual countries. Perhaps some will be used in the game. So, gentlemen, posting pictures here. Perhaps there are more portraits of rulers !!!
These portraits are much interesting from the original vanilia game.

As far as pictures go, I don't think we're going to do anything about them, but then again it doesn't mean we aren't; we're just focusing on the most important things first.

Of course we will be changing them, though as Odin says, it is unlikely anything aesthetic other than the obvious menu and logo will be in the BETA release, afaik.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Beyond what the factions start w/ in terms of FM's we cannot control what the system does. Unless someone is aware of and willing to show me that thread, and a how to. Family trees are going to be pretty close to factual @ 1080, close as possible within the 'confines of the system' as morpheus would put it...

Valdemar Atterdag holding Visby to ransom, 1361 is a historical painting (oil on canvas, signed in 1882)
made by the Swedish historical painter Carl Gustaf Hellqvist (1851 – 1890).This painting depicts how
the Danish king Valdemar IV (a.k.a. Valdemar Atterdag) collects treasures from the people in the Gotlandic
medieval town of Visby in the summer of 1361 AD. If the town's people do not fill the three big beer vats
with gold, silver and other riches, Valdemar will see to that the whole town is burned to the ground. In Swedish
this action is called "brandskattning", but in English there appears to be no corresponding word (?)—the nearest
translation would be "pillage" or "extortion".In this great oil painting, king Valdemar Atterdag sits to the right, on a
redpodium in front of the large St. Catherine's church, and observes the town dwellers as they run to fill the vats.
At the centre of the painting, the "main characters" are seen—i.e. the mayor and his family. The mayor clenches
his fist in wrath and looks at the Danish king, while his wife looks up to the sky, towards God.

It looks very nice in the game.

It looks like we may use that painting for a loading screen in the first release.

Common you! Krzywousty died in 1138, Teutons appeared in Prussia circa 1230y Then Krzywosuty was never crowned into King of Poland Finaly this picture doesn't show Krzywousty, but Władysław Łokietek. He was Polish King, in first half of XIVc.

Also I would be careful with taking Matejko paintings as historical references – they are widely known for lack of historical accuracy when it comes to presented armory.

thanks for all this mate. although the 1800s style paintings probably won't get used, we are trying to use mainly CGI and actual medieval paintings or photos of medieval workmanship. hopefully I don't have to explain why

LOVE that CASIMIR statue. Great name, great guy
