Lol you should care about your losses because you will need all the men you can get for the further development of the game. Gauls are going to be a pain in the ass. Read the guide and you will see gauls will attack with a lot of armies.

yep but i do a great thing that is :
i toke generals to go to other countries to get a lot units(mercenaries)
im doing this often ,to get armie in reserve
i went to greece there i founded archers each unit of them is 200
i have no archers in italy ..

about the loses i just trained
to be new again

oh ye
north italy is full of gaul armies ,gonna be a hard fights but i liked
and ther gauls in north they cannot enter in italy cause is all blocked
and there are 3 generals ready to enter action if any enters

and also the great thing i do going is going nearby countries to get mercenaries
i think in all

im good ,but this mod specially the elefants of cartage j esus
they drive me crazy lol
cartage is too strong

but i like hard mods not easy mods

yes i remember the feeling of fear i used to get when seeing elephants but no longer there needs to be 4 or 5 units these days - if your struggling with the elephants look for a thread i started some time ago called elephants, you'll find all the info you need

about elephants i did this :

to smash the elephants
i went to greece with generals to recruit archers and others units
each unit of archers there has 200 archers ,i have 4units of archers so i have 800 archers to fight cartage not the gauls

thats wat i do to survive
taking generals to others countries to recruite mercenaries
i do this all time without non stop


and the gauls on north they are many
but they cannot enter in italy cause all bridges there are bloked with
fortress and i have 2 fortress in same bridge one in gaul side and other in roman side
if a gaul siege a fortress they have the 2 fortress yet
that gives me time to put there reenforcements

and of course i have 3 big armies near the border in north just in case

i play tw for ages i know wat to do

cause is hard i like hard mods not easy

First - have all this in one spot. Two - try more house rules. Plus, it is easy to beat Carthage without much mercenaries.

i think i saw LT state that merc versions of troops are better than normal ones so you'll have an easier time if you always use them

also the roman legions that you have at the start might not be as good as some of thier foes - but used right you can true destroy almost anything that comes your way

mind you using mercs is fun - you don't feel so guilty when they die

Be sure not to use to many mercenaries, it is n' t fun when you use them because your not able to us a legion as it should be used. If you need a reserve legion just recruit a full legion. It is possible to recruit one legion in one turn if you use 3 cities to recruit the legion.

And build up academy buildings. The experience bonus is a MUST!

and getting mercenaries is a good idea
1 -mercenaries cavalry much better than romans
2 romans are low on units mercenaries much betters and strong
in greece i brought from there archers and hoplites great infantry
no archers in italy this is great advantage

i no care if i have only 3 units of roman and the rest is all mercenaries lol
if fact in my campaign i nicknamed one of my roman generals : the greece
cause his army had only units from greece lol no romans at all .

those archers are good to killing those beast the elephants lol
they drive me crazy in battles

well if you continue your useage of merc armies some of the guys will critise you but i see it as enjoy it first of all, learn how to survive and then when your ready use all the house rules for the best possible game

if you pick up the rules as you go along you'll have a far better game - i do

ye i will follow the rules

im only is beginnig on 2 mission of the senate to send a dipolmat on german side
now italy is safe ,no cartage in south italy ,they are defeated
and in north those 3 villages of gauls i toke them

here more than 7000 gauls defeated in north
by more or less 3000 romans :



i had reenforcements but they were not needed
only 3 units of reenforcements enter in battle

i have to agree with this you'll find some battles (esp sieges) quite difficult with out time to think. But LT did double the time allowed so it should be possible - personal preference i guess
