I found this and it works if you have the steam version.
Hello,
I found a solution online that was for Darthmod, but it also works for this mod.
What you need to do is go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\data\sounds" and copy "events.dat" and "events.idx" and then paste them in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\for_king_or_country\data\sounds" overwriting all files.
I hope this works for you as it did for me
