I'm not a big fan of fantasy, but this is really good.
Yes.
I would say it is amongst the most entertaining series I have had the opportunity to get my paws on. The characters, the setting, the plot, everything is excellent.
If you find that the over-done notion of perfect good characters against evil monsters doesn't iompress you anymore.
If you got tired of elves and humans named Ulfarklgjkj and Anthaloabenrit and swords of truth that save the world.
If you ever thought that it's not possible for a young orphan/villager /etc to grow into a warrior/mage/etc in a year (Eragon is a prime example)
If you like more realistic Medieval settings, with knights, lords, intrigue and politics
If you like undead, dragons and toned down magic (no more wizards firing fireballs and defeating armies single-handed.
If you like believable characters with flaws like every human
If you are not against sex scenes depicted graphically
You will love it
It's freakin good, there is one minor minuspoint and that's that the writer is not exactly a fast writer.
'I'll be damned ' Marcellus Wallis
sounds good. I just saw it in that book store the other day and now I want to read it.
thank you all![]()

"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

I honestly think Martin has simply quit writing it. His last update was in Jan of 08' on his site and he has said nothing since then about the series. I think he is more interested in Wild Cards and other projects than finishing the SoIaF series. If and when the next book comes out I'll run out and buy it, but I've given up hope on that happening in the next year at all.
Just a great series and I hope it doesn't turn into another Jordan where it will be left to someone else to complete.
Under the Patronage of Lord Condormanius
Yeah, these books are awesome, probably the best fantasy I have ever read.
Pretty depressing series so far, and the 4th book doesn't really go anywhere (anytime I try to think back on something major that happens in that book I realize that i'm thinking of the 3rd book), but is still a great read.
He'll probably get his interest back when those checks from HBO start rolling in.![]()
