Problems Installing, Help would be nice
Right well recently i bought the new total war:eras pack because me RTW disc had finally given up on me so i got Rome Total Realism working on the gold edition version fine however with you mod i am having difficulties, i start the installation and tell it to extract and install to C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War where my rome is however as it shows bme what is happening it says skipped on every file then it says finish, a shortcut comes on the desktop for it i press on it it starts coming up and then ctds before i get anyway.
Just wondering if anyone knows what to do or is it just a case of this mod not being compatible with the gold edition of rome.
(Installed my old rome to try that and because i have gold edition the patches wouldnt install on normal version because gold is present, and my old disc doesnt work properly anymore anyway because it is so scratched.)

I believe you're using Vista, as I recognize the issue. You should run the installer as Administrator: Right-click the ROP installer, select 'Run as Administrator' and then continue just as you did before.

Re: Problems Installing, Help would be nice
Are you using RTW v1.5? You can check this by loading the RomeTW.exe in your RTW folder, then when it started up you click Options from the main menu. In the top right it should say 1.5. If it's different, you need to update RTW.

heres the thing , i tried putting on 1.5 on the rome but it says not compatible with gold edition but my rtr works fine and needs the same patches so i am assuming it isnt a case of patch upgrade but i dont know.

Re: Problems Installing, Help would be nice
So do you have RTW 1.5 or RTW 1.3 in the options menu? If it's 1.3, and you're using RTW gold, then maybe it's the 1.6 patch that you need (which also patches BI 1.4 to 1.6).

Re: Problems Installing, Help would be nice
it wont let me patch up again says it isnt compatible so any other advice, the 2 problems iot had again was the babylon general had a max range of 140 and the max range for archers was 130 i assume it conflicts the rule and the otherone was that it failed to open the sound database.
Is there no way of just me reprograming the certain problems so it will work on my computer

Re: Problems Installing, Help would be nice
If you have ver. 1.5 it should be ok. You could change the maximum range of the babylon general to 130, but I have never heard of that problem before. The sound database problem is more stressing though, as we don't really alter anything there ourselves. Are you sure that the RTW 1.5 installation itself is unmodified? Eg. did you install a mod that overwrites original game files?

Cool, have fun
It completely depends on whether RTR overwrites original game files or not. I believe that v6.x does overwrite, but if you use The Iberian Conquest campaign for instance it would be no problem. Not sure about RTRPE.

Re: Problems Installing, Help would be nice
I've installed RTRPE alongside ROP before, and both worked fine.
