SS Map Modding Help

Whenever I try modding the Stainless Steel map, the game goes... funny... Basically all I want to do is edit a couple of region boundaries, which works fine with Vanilla and other mods, but apparently not with Stainless Steel. I am deleting world/maps/base/map.rwm, so unsure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone provide any pointers?

Hard to describe as I can't take screenshots for some reason. The mini map disappears though, as does the entire "bottom" of the screen... is it called HUD? I don't know lol. Will try it again
