RPing aside, I'm playing a Long campaign as Scotland. I've taken the Isles and successfully taken the Western coast of France thanks to some clever crusade-calling. I scouted to the west, and what do I find? Milan now owns half of Western Europe! Looks like I'll have to get them exommunicated.

Also, the crossbow stacks aren't THAT bad if you've got either longbowmen to outshoot them or some good light cavalry to run them down; you'll slaughter half of them before those annoying knights and spear militia can intervene.

To be honest, I've never once had them betray me... Of course, I've never played as their neighbors HRE or Venice.

France is the only faction that I've had betray me without exception in EVERY single one of my campaigns. This is even after marrying off a princess to them. I wonder if some nations are just scripted to be that way:hmmm:

When Milan attacks me out of the blue I think one thought: "Hooray! I'm rich!"

I know that in two turns time Milan will begin sending full stack armies of Milanese Crossbow Militia which I will rout with my cavalry to yield 7-800 prisoners per battle.

I know that Milan is such a rich faction that I will be able to ransom the captives back to them for thousands of florins.

i think milans kinda fun to play in the campaign but only if i take venice in the first few turns cause then im rich for the rest of the game and i get to spam crossbowmen and famiglia ducale

I can't stand Milan. Their stacks of spammed crossbow militia drive me nuts and they're constantly backstabbing me every chance they get. Every time I see that annoying Green banner marching around on the map I want to transfer nukes from Civilization into MTW2 and turn their countryside into a very large and disorganized glass-topped parking lot.

Of course, if we didn't develop personal rivalries with fictitious game AI personalities, the game wouldn't be as much fun, would it?

I think Milan has the nicest colores ingame, and that sound when the crossbows fire, is lovely.
Not to mention when the enemis fall to death by it!

( iv never been alince with them so yea)

But i do know that i have a Milan campaign going on. its probably one of my favorite ever!and i think they kick A** no swearing
