Exactly. There is a clause in the constitution about limiting absolute freedom of speech when it presenting a clear and present danger, which has been upheld by the courts. The whole "you can't scream 'fire' randomly in a movie theatre' thought experiment comes to mind.

Luckily, that clause has been interpreted fairly in the past, and usually (I say "usually" because in the past there have been times where we've gone overboard- the various Sedition Acts for example) is only applied when it really is something that presents a clear danger. Like threatening to murder someone. :

If I am not mistaken, Obama appears to be a Democrat. Could you bring up relevant parts of Obama's policies that make you label him as a Socialist. Calling Obama a Socialist simply isn't logical, he doesn't believe that industries should be nationalized by the government or even in the hands of workers. Obama will not require businesses to meet targets of production, he won't set up a governmental agency to plan the economy and he will not outlaw profit.

Anyways, I'm counting on McCain supporters to drop these claims of Obama's socialism, mainly because McCain said Obama was not a Socialist on Larry King Live and similar words came from Mitt Romney.
