    Default Display Driver crash

this is where either the game freezes right after the map loads, or soon in the main menu the screen gets all jumbled and freezes. it shows as an nv_4 display driver crash.

this happens to me every once in a while, but recently it has happened on two seperate occasions within the last 3 or 4 days. it started doing it and it would do it every time i loaded the game. so then i just didn't do anything and the next day it worked again. now it has started doing it again and every time i have to reboot my computer.

this gets really annoying considering i haven't changed anything like graphics settings or anything like that. i would think it would be a graphics problem but i'm using the same config that i have been using for 2 years since the game came out.

If your grahics card is overheating and/or dying it will do it to you because of the load this game puts on one. Check for overheating, clean the crud out of the case, cards, fans, etc and see if that helps.

thats wat i was thinking that it could be a hardware issue. i've actually cleaned out my case recently. my GPU is getting old, but i just bought a new card, so hopefully that will clear it up. i dont know how to check for over heating in the game, but i know that my fans arn't having to kick on high when i load it.

Your new card ought to do it, then. Good Luck.

i'm getting an 8400GS 512mb 64bit ddr2. i'll be upgrading from a 6200 256mb 64bit. the 6200 has worked well for over 2 years, but its time for an upgrade. since i got PCI i'm very limited. the 8400GS will be a bit improvement tho. like 4 billion texture thingys instead of 0.7 billion with my 6200. wish it was more then 64 bit tho.
