Default How Universal Healthcare is bankrupting the Free World

Thats my opinion. Every where you look companies and even states are going bankruot because of the healthcare and other sociaist benefits their giving out. When will americans be educated again in the capitalist system? Not under Obuma thats for sure. When ever the government subsidses anything it drives up the price. That goes for healthcare as well as the price of homes. It artifically increases demand.

New York, California and many other states are going under because of this. Not to mention the big three . Now weve elected a president who wants to bring this disaster to us all and the american people have been so dumbed down that many think it a good idea. How can any rational person not see the writing on the wall. It doesnt work.

Hi I agree with a good deal of your post, Its madness that private companies should be expected to finance their employees health care.
Regarding State finance systems, Its a tricky issue. On the one hand you want a healthy population on the other you do not want your state bankrupted by abuse of the system.
Living in Europe myself,, I see health systems costing billions for very little return.
The worst abusers of the system are not the sick and needy, but the self perpetuating huge army of health officials, managers ect which leech onto it.
Public money is a gravy train. regards magpie.

This would be funny if it wasn't so sad. How many citizens of the US are living without healthcare again?

Maybe you should give us at least some examples and sources for your 'argument'.

Erling, don't bother. Mr. Limbaugh and Mr. Justice has been brainwashed by the American school system/society trough, what? Nearly a hundred years of "Socialism kills kittehs" propaganda.
I was educated before socialism raised its ugly head in our schools under the guise of the federal government. Back before revisionist history.

you guys are almost as old as my grandpa...
Being 60 I would hope so.

You probably do, but the CEO’s and owners are still left with embarrassing profits for themselves while their employees are left with dog-
Embarrassing? I agree if they run the company down they shouldnt get squat but if they lead the company to huge profits they deserve it. Corporations are not in buisness to provide you a job. They have only one reason for existance and thats to make money. When they stop doing that they die. Or they should. Now we want to put them as well on life support. Its not worth the cost to keep them alive. Let a new generation take over. Dont perpetutate failure. The free market works when the government gets out of the way.

You do realize that the economic problems are a bit more complex, right? Something about mortgages, a stock market issue...

And stop blaming things on Obama. He's not president yet.

My country has had free healthcare forever. It used to work wonders, but now when the states can't keep up with zillions of new immigrants things are collapsing. These recipients haven't paid their dues, and basically the taxpayer who formerly paid the bill happily now gets nothing out of it. Unless you want to call raping taxi driver bastards who arrived yesterday 'citizens'.

Biggest load of BS I have heard in a long time.

If you think the economic crisis is because of health care you are so wrong it physically hurts me. You do know the crisis is caused by your capitalist buddies trying to make to much money and not because of health care right?

Also if you think socialism does not work, look at the countries in the world with no foreign dept. Norway and Dubai are truly scary communistic places comerade.

Its called having over abundant natural resources for the size of the population. Just about any system would thrive there.

You do realize that the economic problems are a bit more complex, right? Something about mortgages, a stock market issue...

Also caused by Obuma and the democrats. His job once more was to threaten banks who wouldnt make bad loans.

You do know if Norway had the system America has the oil would have brought no wealth to the people? If we had used your precious system one company had been given the right to drill, pumped up billions of dollars worth of oil and keep the money to themselves. Also Dubai “abundant” natural recourses are less than 6% of their total economy.

And how has Obama contributed to the crises? Please elaborate because you have me confused.

Also I would like to point out that the Bush administration’s move was to bail out the banks, you don’t get more socialist than that.

Just showing your ignorance of our system because that dont happen here. Better like in Venezula right? They make an 8% profit here. The government makes far more on their investment and work than the oil companies do. And by a large margin. Then all the stock holders(US citizens) get most of the profit.

The Dems and Obuma are behind the housing collapse its that simple. He was a soldier in the field probagating this collapse.

I could swear its a democratic congress that wrote and passed that bill.

    Umm, yes it would.

You just don't understand the system America has.

We tax oil companies and those that invest and run them far too much, and then waste that money on social programs (what you refer to as bringing wealth to the people).

    What should happen is this:

The oil companies hire people to run the company and bring profits to investors who then invest those profits, and that government taxes those people an equal portion of their income and puts that money into fulfilling the proper roles of government.

If we had used your precious system one company had been given the right to drill, pumped up billions of dollars worth of oil and keep the money to themselves.
What do you think "keep that money to themselves" means? Do you think rich people leave their money lying around?

Nope. They invest and they spend.

Not only that, but alot of that money would be going to companies who produce the equipment used by the oil companies and the incomes of those working in the oil company.

EDIT: Got a part of that entirely wrong.

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State. - James Madison

Totally true, it was not just incompetence amongst the banks that gave loans to anyone. It was all part of commerade Obama’s master plan to resurrect the Soviet Union.

And how does that help when Bush supported it, he even said the 700 billion number.

Yes you are right, because building, roads, Schools and hospitals is such a waste of money. And yes, the American system would bring wealth to the people through taxes, but only a small percentage. In Norway we just put the Oil money straight into the National book. Why make the middle men so filthy rich?

That does not help the workers. And you need regulation. See what has happened without it.

*sigh* of course they don’t leave the money lying around, but they spend it on themselves. The fact that Mr. CEO with a billon dollar salary decides to build a new multi million dollar house does not help his employees. It does not help the people building the house; it only helps another CEO with a multi million dollar salary whose company gets paid to build the house.

Yes, they get paid under the Norwegian system as well, but once again that your factory gets paid does not help your employees.

Norway has a population of like ten and lots and lots of oil.

Dubai has a population of like ten and lots and lots of oil.

Show me an nation that can't operate well economically under those conditions and I'll show you a bunch of incredibly stupid people.

From the point of view of doctors, and myself, so many uninsured and too-poor-to-afford-good-health is a crime. Trying to place the functions of a free market in the medical world, of health as a commodity, is contemptible. If you're going to spend money - if you're going to lose money at all - here is where it should be spent.

Is everyone entitled to the best doctor?

Hes going to be awful busy.

Anyway what do you all think of this?

    5,000 Doctors Challenge Private-Insurance System
Over 5,000 U.S. physicians have signed an open letter calling on the candidates for president and Congress "to stand up for the health of the American people and implement a nonprofit, single-payer national health insurance system

I sort of like that idea.
As Ive always said insurance companies are no better. Your just adding more expense and another middle man.

Maybe you should change the topic name to "Universal Healthcare without bankrupting the Free World."

I actually like the sound of the system in your link, but it will be vigorously attacked as "socialized medicine."

Health care can be provided without the added cost overhead of government bureaucracy. It's government management that is criminal. I would rather depend on the charity of a free clinic the a government run health bus. The problem of cost is tied with other economic factors, but several things are certain; regulation of doctors by the AMA, regulation of pharmaceuticals by the government, regulation of medical equipment guidelines by the government, price controls by both state and federal government, all amount to a decrease in the quality and quantity of care. The government cannot run any business. Like it or not, health care is a business just like any. Those who can afford the best will be given the best, those can afford only the basic, will obviously not have the best quality, but it doesn't mean they'll have none.

I keep telling them that and they say it runs them better. If this were so then socialism would work and the USSR would have won the cold war.
