How do I correctly put the 1.3 files into my vanilla game so Kingdoms will work?

Also...what are some good mods to play that run on m2tw?

The installer for the 1.3 update is on your Kingdoms dvd. If you installed Medieval2 and the 1.2 update in the default folder it will find it and update it.

Excuse me, I think I ment 1.2, is it 1.2 i need to play kingdoms? If so can you post the link and the instructions of what file goes where?

1.2, friend is also on the Kingdoms dvd and you need both 1.2 and 1.3. The Kingdoms installer if you installed Medieval2 right will find it and update it for you. You can also search the dvd and install them manually before installing Kingdoms. My machine has enough power in XP to do it all at once. Some people are not so fortunate and have to do it one at a time.

There was an unspecified error that occured after installation. It always happens when I enter a battle......please help!

What does your system.log.txt say? Did you download and install the Kingdoms Update patch?

Straight from the readme.

-  NOTE: Due to a timestamp check, the following unpacked files will
   cause the game to crash and must be deleted before the game is
   launched:

    data\descr_geography_new.txt
        data\descr_geography_new.db

Those two files are found in your Medieval II Total War/data folder.

Ok...but where is the cfg. file at? How do I get to that specific file.....there are tons of them and I dont feel up to a mad search.......

It's not my computer and I don't know what's on it. Unless you added mods there is only one .cfg file in you Medieval II Total War folder. In notepad click open file and all the files it can edit will be listed and just scroll down until you find it. Part of learning this game is learning what's in it. That my dear friend is part computer experience, part common sense, and part initiative.

I cant find the geo files....I looked in all the folders......why wouldent they be showing up? This is truely frustrating.....

Patience. Rome wasn't built in a day and you're not going to learn evrything about this game in a day, either.
Did you upack the game?
If not, they are not your problem.
If so, they are are in you Medieval II Total War/data folder.
The more you learn about your computer the more you will learn about this game.

The thing is that I did unpack it....all the files are there but those two......would a visual help? I'll post pics if you want......I just want to play......and this really sucks......
