Issue with 1.2 Patch while waiting on turn.

Hello there,
I have been browsing through forums for quite a while and played Medieval 2 total war for over year or so, but just recently i have installed Medieval 2 and found pretty annoying issue with the game.
When i played ver. 1.0 everything was fine no bugs or that have been found.
Then when i decided to play some Mods i had to install the 1.2 patch, because most Mods run on 1.2 now anyway.
Now even when i play 1.2 Vanilla the game freezes on random countries on either turn 1 or 2 and doesn't let me proceed. i Can still see caravans moving on the roads and sea , and even can quit the game by pressing Esc key, so its not any error where it sends you straight to desktop.
If anyone else had the same issue and is willing to help me then, id be glad for you to respond to me.

My suggestion would be two things: get another 1.2 download as that one maybe corrupted and a total uninstall/ reinstall of the game. Even then try the original game to make sure it works before installing any mods.
