    Mr Average aka Brett Ratner.
Yes, the guy known for nothing doing anything remotely special to his movies and making them as predictable as possible is set to direct the new Conan movie.
    Also it's a part of a series.

    Very bad choice.
Conan is a nice character and while Milius version wasn't very faithful it was atleast a good and enjoyable movie.
The fact that Ratner is directing and part of a series has crappy movie written all over it.

Oh yes, Marcus Nispel, the hobo of directors.

Everything about this project so far is a turn off.

Oh great, Michael Bay's freaking pet.
To pick between him or Brett Ratner, well I rather go play Age of Conan.

Wow this'll really suck. It be more akin to the conan sequels than the original, methinks.

Wy are they even doing a conan movie? The old one was entertaining enough they can just put that one on dvd/blu Ray and those interested in a Conan movie will buy that

Some of his movies were decent, even if a little cliched. The Rush Hour series, the third X-Men (even though the 2nd is much superior), The Family Man, and Red Dragon were at least half-decent.

I don't know what they hope to accomplish out of a remake anyway. Milius' version is already incredibly bloodly, action-packed, strange, and almost video game like. It's a great movie to watch for its utter simplicity and badassness.

The directors changed. Ratner is no longer directing the movie. Nispel is now the director.

Mmm.... wow, this is... bull ... crapp material. That said, let me cheer you guys up with a less tragic moment in the history of human error:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.
