Expert CTD help needed!
I'm running my mod on the ALX engine. Everything was working fine until I added some new buildings (beyond what I already added). There are currently 52 (? I think) building trees, so I am within the limit. I got a CTD without error that will not go away. My splash screen comes up for about a second, then nothing. I do have show_err operating on my ALX shortcut.
I have not touched the names files. There are no missing entries in my export_buildings.txt. You'll see what I was adding when you see that file. I took out all new buildings but one in my EDB, and all buildings are accounted for in the buildings.txt file. I then used Textpad to replace any of the "tab" hidden-markings with "space-bar" hidden-markings. (That has been pointed out as a big error with modded EDB's).
Well, here I am with no solution. I cannot find any missing punctuation in the EDB, and the game still will not go past the splash screen. I'm hoping someone can take a look at these files, and tell me what I've missed.

Re: Expert CTD help needed!
If the buildings you added belong to a carthaginian culture faction, then you will also need to edit descr_ui_buildings.txt. Remove one of the two lines at the top that mention "carthaginian".

I had a quick look - the obvious thing to me was that you had not added the tree names to the EB file. That will cause a CTD.

Re: Expert CTD help needed!
Ahh, Master of None, thanks. Something so obvious, I guess in my rush is that I only had the building levels. Let me give it a try and see how it comes out. Aradan, thanks for your advice too. I had tried that last night, but since I had not listed the building trees as MasterOfNone suggested, it didn't make a difference.
So, let me try it one at a time and test, as I do have some new carthaginian buildings too.

Re: Expert CTD help needed!
I fixed it. It turned out to be none of the above. It was the villas section. I had listed the egyptian option under villa one as a duplicate of the roman one, because I had not wanted to see the same onscreen name for both. I fixed it by creating a separate building for the egyptian villa, like so:
{villa1} Parva Villa rustica

In earlier times, villas were places where rich Romans can not only cultivate land, but also enjoy the countryside genteleman's life.\n\nAll work was done by
slaves and controlled by other slaves, for example there was the 'Villicus', whose duty was to manage the other slaves, to take care of the farm animals and
implements, and to manage all the operations of the farm, as written by Cato in De Agri Cultura. He was not allowed to leave the villa except to go to
market, he was not allowed to have intercourse with sootsayers.\n\nIn the times of the late Roman Empire, villas are more often constructed and run by
'Liberti', freedmen who serve their master in a more bureaucratic and professional manner. The owners are less likely to be rich gentlemen than to be
businessmen. Production has also become more specialized, extensive crop cultivation or cattle breeding needs the work of hundreds of slaves. Even a little
villa is as organized as a little city, maybe more.

The need to grow even more food leads to increases in the size and efficiency of farms. Latifundia are enormous and efficient estates that are put together
through legally confiscating land from peasant farmers. Worked by slaves, they produce huge surpluses and are very profitable to the owners. Everyone (except
the dispossessed peasants and the slaves) does very well out of the Latifundia system.

Eventually the need to provide more grain to the world required Egypt to create more organized large estates to farm the land. These Doreai are highly

I do appreciate your help guys, because it forced me to look even more closely at xport_buildings.txt
