Default Needs Help Editing Battle Models File

I know how to change the unit & building file to make units available to other factions. But the only remaining is the battle_models. I have no clue what needs to be changed so that the units have their skins. I have seen links to threads that give you step by step instructions and for some reason I'm just not getting it to work. Lame I know. Can anyone help me out with this issue? I know maybe a edit battle_models file for dummies or something.

As well one more issue which remains for myself is how do I give say KOJ the ability to create brick castles instead of the stone ones?

Yeah, so if you want to give KOJ brick castles, Teutonic or Eastern European, then you'll want to change descr_sm_factions.txt so that KOJ will read

    culture eastern_european

    instead of northern european

also, if you're wanting to add units and whatnot, make sure the textures of your desired units fit the lod.mesh, otherwise they get pretty freaky looking. Sometimes you'll just have to settle for a lack of faction specific colors if you can't the faction you want to add to has no texture available.

As for editing the .modelsdb, i'll give it a shot.

The attached file should help you somewhat

1 2--------- change this to a 2 since for example two factions would use this unit.
4 merc <------------------ Under this line if for example I wanted T.O. to be able to create these units as well would I do this
4 merc, 9 T.O. (or whatever number they are..Im at work right now)? I'm sure I have more questions later when I start doing some testing.

Not entirely correct. You need to add new armor sections for each faction that has the unit. I've just been playing around with this myself, so I'll give it a try.
If we take you example of adding Mercenary German Knights to the Teutonic Order, you'll need to change the original:

It doesn't show up correctly when posted here, but you must also make sure that there's a single space after each line.
