    Default Problem installing

To start off I have been a lurker for over a year now and played many mods. I started with M2TW then got RTW played a few mods but now I wanna go back to M2TW. I have never had problems installing either before but now right at the end of the install windows shuts down, a blue screen with white writing comes up. The error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL it tells me that there was a problem installing. The weird part is the game works (only played one turn to test) but I cant patch it. When I try to patch it says that M2TW isnt installed.

I have got the blue screen before, unrelated to the game, a few times after my computer has been suspended. It says at the bottom of the screen there was a "physical memory dump" :hmmm:

Thanks in advance for any help, this is quite frustrating as it happens right at the end of the install and I've tried like 5 times

    Cheers,
    Paul

It is called the BSD (Blue Screen of Death). I don't think it has to do directly with the installation of the game. It is always possible that you might have some hard ware problem (over heating) or soft ware related (video drivers).
You might be able to find out more by looking at your event log (Microsoft, not the game).

I did a quick search and came up with the same answers as you suggested, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Overheating could be an issue as I use a laptop (dell inspiron 9300). How do I look at the event log? How would I know if its software related? Sorry for all the noob questions, I have only basic computer knowledge.

Right click your 'Computer' icon and choose 'manage' from the drop down menu.
Go into 'event viewer' and have a look at the latest logs.
If you open (double click) the entries you should see a link.
You have to be online to get a help message trying to explain the reasons.
