    Default Commanding allied armys

say you are on good terms with an ally and then could you merge your army with theirs and get command of this hybrid army so long as you have a general with a higher command rating then your allies.

however to stop you from hijacking all your allies armies there would be some restrictions such as your allied units deserting if you don't fight enemies of you or your allies or use them to attack nothing but lowly rebels.

this in turn could strengthen relations or damage them, if you win or lose battles, repeatedly get allied units killed, or do nothing but wast your ally's time attacking rebels or just plain doing nothing.

sorry if this is not possible, i dont know much about modding, but i thought this might be a good idea

its simply impossible to control more than 1 army, this feature was a big dissapointment, cause CA was bragging about controlling more than one army but in the end all u can do is putting them on offense or defence, dont mind controlling another faction' s troops.

Controlling more than one army would be confusing for me. Especially if the other army was an army that wasn't from your faction, don't think that would make sense.

But their "Reinforcements Control" were a big dissapointment indeed. Not because it's a bad idea, but because they didn't bother to work more on the AI overall anyway.

What about the idea if you are allied with another nation you get few of their types of units. For example if your playing as the HRE an you make an alliance with England you could get a few units of Longbow men to train. This could represent nations sending troops to support an allied nation. Also we could have that the more the allied nation likes you the better allied troops you could get.

This would make Alliances more worth while and would be a good boost to both player faction and AI factions.

Actually David, I think this was explained during the preview. About the AOR of certain units. I think it maybe possible to recruit them, but not as native units, but more as mercenaries. I mean, even with alliances I don't think a kingdom would give away some of their most prized units such as England's Longbow men. However, the idea is great and think it should be represented through mercenary recruitment rather then through the tech-tree of the allied nation.

who did france get the scotland guard archers then? i thought it was through this way. And anyways, longbows were peasants were they not?
"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Indeed they were, but it depends on what type of longbow men are we talking about. If a unit was from a company or battalion from a previous army it would be unlikely that they would sold unless they were disbanded. The only time this would happen would be during peace times, however, if you're allied with another nation and trading your soldiers to each other than it would be likely that you would be at war also to support your allies. Support was better than just giving troops away. Now, I'm not saying it never happened, although I do think it didn't happen on a lot of occasions.

Hells yes; even if you had AI reinforcements which you could so-call, "control", aggressive, defensive, and shootout were not good ways. Most of the time they really didn't do what you told them to do with the exception of shootout mode. And if they were to "help" you in a siege then forget it. I can count more than one time that the AI kept shooting holes into city walls before they even charge. A lil later I discovered the only way they would come into the city was if they shot down the gates...WTF, why don't they shoot the gates down first then?! And aggressive was not as such, I would call aggressive, attack every enemy you see; what the AI did in this "aggressive" mode was wait till the enemy got close enough, attack, then run back to their original positions...isn't that more of a defensive role? Matter of fact, Even when I put them on defense I didn't see much of a difference, if at all.
