    Default Family members

I'm playing as the Roman Britones under Riothamus. After a somewhat bitter struggle everything is now going well with southern England now well under control. However I had to treat my family members somewhat disposably to acheive that. Since the heir died I have had no more offers for family members for about 15 turns and a couple of times in key battles I lost Riothamus, causing the faction to dissolve. I'm beginning to worry that I may inevitably lose when Riothamus eventually dies. Is there a way to force family member offers or at least help it?

    Hi seriousbusiness,
Did you lose him? :hmmm:You should be getting the adopted requests. Fight with a captain, an army with out a general. Use it on a rebel force, one you know you can win and there is a good chance that that captain will be awarded by the AI a generalship and thus adopted in the Royal family. Curious to how ur campaign goes..

Thing is I've beein winning epic battles everywhere (eg a unit of 6-7 equites sagitarii has systematically exterminated several full stacks of Gaelics and Romano-Brits). Also a half-stack of Foederati/medium infantry/2 equites sagitarii have captured the two southern Saxon settlements. For about 15-20 turns I was stuck in the middle of a bitter triangle of attacks, constantly being hit with nearly everything they had and since I had lost all my generals (worth it!) beating back their attacks early in I should most definitely have got some promotion oppurtunities. Riothamus is only 42 so there's no immediate problem but I would like to know if there is a command/edit I can make to get new FM's, partly also for curiosity's sake. BTW top BI mod, Rio. The balance is great (although it seems like overkill in Britain/Ireland. 30 provinces, 5 factions... meanwhile Gaul/Germany feel quite spaced out.)

    Thanks seriousbusiness,
Not sure how to get command that.
What level are you playing om for campaign and battles?

Its a good concern about the over kill. I tried to make that region weaker economically compared to the other regions on the map. BRG II will address that further. No Capital rich cities either on the islands and there are penalties when occupying other factions lands that can make expansion expensive. Its sort of a mod within a mod approach.

VH/VH difficulty (not so hard, but I had to use my family members or my strategic position would have been compromised). I don't understand why this is happening. After I lost the heir, no more offers for FMs. Odd. 11 provinces, no offers for FMs.

If it helps I'm using the 4-turn/year script but also getting occasional 'Victory Conditions Failed' messages without actually being defeated.

I really want to get to the bottom of this one. What could possibly cause family members to stop appearing?

I guess I'll just start over with BRG II. Still a bummer though.

Huzzah! I got a family member offer! An abnormally long wait, especially for so many provinces. Rio was getting a little old, but it eventually came.
