I have had issues with the behaviour of children in the TW community as had others. What are your thoughts on the following proposal.

Gamespy offer another server to paying members. You would have to register online and pay a couple bucks a month: Payment by credit card or paypal.

Think about it? Would parents want to pay for their children to go on Gamespy when they could get it for free? Some but most wouldn’t.

The Gamespy that we would pay for should offer a lot more services like player registration and giving trusted members administrators rights to monitor chat and if necessary ban IP addresses for ever.

I am a Plumber by trade so computers are not my first speciality. Imagine being able to keep track of all your game on the new Gamespy if the technology exist?

What do you guys think?

Why would you want to split an already small community? And no, I would not be willing to pay as honestly I dont think behavior is that big a deal. Theres already a ban, mute, and kick button, thats enough for me.

Yea, it prevents players from joining your games. Its the button in between the chat box, and the player name box that looks like a crossed out person.

A step you could take is to surround yourself with people you know and like and limit your games to them.

That's a good point. I guess that's were X-Fire could be of use. Notice how I modified my signature block to reflect what I am after.

Well, I wouldn't like the split. Cos there are many great players who are polite and well mannered, yet will not be able to pay for such an 'upgrade' for a better server service. Not only would it split the whole RTW Multiplayer community, it would also split the group of well mannered and better players, due to some of them not wanting to pay.

I know there are pros and cons to it. Long term those who like the game enough will pay for it.

Here are the best things to do:

1) Report trash-talking clanmembers to their clan leaders. Each clan has their own code of conduct. People who join clans know this. So report them, and let their leaders know whenever one of their members break their own rules.

2) Be respectful to your opponents.

3) Let people know they need to learn some Gamer's etiquette whenever they decide to break protocol. There's a code of conduct for gamers, and you need to let these people know that it's not cool when they act like thugs.

4) Join a clan, and make change within your clan. Make sure your clanmates are respecting their rules. Otherwise, report them to their leaders. Always report them. If people really want to join clans, then they better respect clan rules. Otherwise, they shouldn't have joined. If your clan has no rules, then make them.

5) Respect yourself and respect other gamers.

Actually it's quite a good idea, as paying would attract the more committed players, everybody also knows just how bad gs is as well so if the service was better then yes I would pay

Big problem though is the current lack of players and if a new version of a rome based game came along then it could be a viable option

Also I would add to prince's list if somebody is offending you then refuse to play them or ban them from your games, if everybody did this then we may start to get rid of some of the idiots

What I would love is an auto-kick/ban/mute option that you can turn on or off. All stuff said that you don't want to hear, is blocked by the game. People who say that stuff can't join, etc.
I wouldn't pay for RTW online. I'd rather go online, speak the bare minimum of social necessities, play a game, repeat. I'll pay for an MMO, since the developer takes care of more stuff but I refuse to pay for something like that.

Nothing changes for you my friend. If your sixteen and in college you must be pretty smart. Sorry your parents can't buy you clothes but that's not my fault.

I think you missed what he was saying. He can't afford to pay for an additional server while buying other more important things like clothes etc.

I've had two ideas that seem viable also.Which would work well with the Princes rules above.

First is an xfire community. Setting one up is quite simple, it's done like a clan page on xfire. Members simply apply to join and are approved by an administrator/moderator. You can then see anyone from here, their online status if they are playing rome how much they have played this week, without actually going through the tedious process of adding everyone on xfire and waiting for them to accept your request as friend.

This would make finding games with good mannered players easy and could be done even prior to going into the lobby.

It also makes it easier to track and issolate offenders. If they wish to become apart of this they have to grow up, become civilized atleast. If they do not, they can be excluded from the xfire community and the forums here.

This second option would work well in conjunction with the above idea. A TWC gaming day.

Select a day and time, where players from here would come online enmass. You could cross check id's from xfire to avoid trolls and players trying to clone other players to gain access to games by using offline members names.

As for the gaming day/time idea, I suspect that the wide range in time-zones, from the US/Mexico through to Europe through to New Zealand/Australia, would make it unworkable. People can play when they can play.

In any case, some of us aren't really scared of the trash-talkers. We're just annoyed by them completely.

Its a part of life, guys, deal with it. Whether walking down the street, sitting on the bus, or drinking in a bar, you're always going to find people who say things you find offensive. MP RTW is no different.

Personally, my skins a bit thick to be worrying about what other people are saying. Let them carry on, its there problem, not mine. It becomes my problem when i start worrying about it.

There is no way of getting rid of people like that, just deal with it and carry on. Already explained the plethora of ways of aiding with not interacting, block, mute, ban etc.

paying aint popular, not all youth are fouled mouthed and that would ruin it for the rest, as emotion name said, you get idiots anywhere in life, instead of getting worked up with jackasses organize matches on the forums in the chat lobby, very few go there so when organising a game you can place in piece with some one you no, alternatively private message people you like in the friendly lobby and ask if they want a game in the chat lobby, even i get fed up of the hussle and bussle myself....
