    Default The Big Obama Poll

Since Obama's presidency is pretty much -the- topic on the forums, and there seem to be some people who genuinely believe he is devilspawn that will sell bright american souls to evil muslim sodomites, I'm pretty interested in how the opinions about him are divided.

    So, here's a poll. Vote 8D

EDIT: and then I made a typo in the second option :| Well = will, obviously.

    My choice isn't really listed...

0 - Best President since Lincoln, 150 years ago.

Wow so essentially it doesn't matter how the president actually does to you Mikelus? For someone who is pretty old you have absolutely no historical perspective. So that means you think he is better then Reagan, Truman and FDR correct?

I think for a few years he will get a leg up if Bush's plan works and will get overwhelmingly positive news coverage how he does from a historical perspective is up for grabs but I tend to have a negative opinion.

They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

    Best President since Lincoln?

First off he aint even president yet

Did you know Lincoln suspened habeaus corpus, arrested thousands of people without trial. Sure he kept this country together and historians always rate him #1 but... he did some pretty messed up things. Oh and Lincoln was a republican

Obama will be a one term President (IDK depends on who the GOP nominee is) b/c he will not be able to solve this country's problems with his what... rehtoric? magic?

Yes, Lincoln was a tyrant in some ways, dispensing with some aspects of the Constitution as he saw fit, which was wrong. But in the end, he was a masterful politician who kept the Union together long enough to re-unite the country. I would say the ends justify the means, in this case.

That's my overall impression of Obama at the moment, not too impressive. He's not in office yet, so anything can change, even Obama's own "change" in mind.
While I did support Obama, I will gladly differentiate myself from the supporters of his that think he is the best thing since sliced bread. He will not bring a new era of peace and prosperity and make all things right. All I can say is that I do not believe that he will make things worse. Compared to how things have been going, that in itself is a positive step. To be quite honest, I would have supported McCain had he picked anyone besides Sarah Palin. But given his failing health, I could not bring myself to vote for a ticket that had Sarah Palin so close to the top.

    King...

This is a prediction thread, not a retrospective one.

Yes, I think he has the "right stuff" to be one of our greatest Presidents.
You obviously disagree. Time will tell what the reality is.

But for now, in a PREDICTION thread, I'm pretty safe making any old claim.
My record on the forums for predictions is pretty shabby, eh?

Lol? All of them held Republican values I love Teddy
I have not seen an ounce of republican values from Obama yet. However he probably wont be doing all the crap he said on the campaign which will be a good thing. Hopefully.

LOL we agree on almost nothing politically, and yet 4 out of 5 of those guys (leaving out Kennedy and replacing him with Reagan) would be on my list of greats. Although I really like Jefferson as well.

    option #3 here.

Obama already began to act against his election campaign of lies.

he did decide to continue with missile defense system in Poland and he is avoiding contact with president Medvedev. wasteful spending + escalation of diplomatic conflicts with Russia FTW. not even close to change from Bush's policies.

He will readily be able to surpass Bush's achievements, just by having the ability to string words together into a coherent sentence.

Maybe he just got less articulate as he got older?

BUt yeah any president should be better than Bush. However Im to cynical to ever believe what a politician says. I'm not gonna believe in Obama until I actually see "Meanigful change" Im sorry Id rather be pleasently surprised than even more cynical xD

I would vote if there'd be an option between 1 and 2. I believe he will try to be a good president. But he is a politican after all. So he won't stand up to all of his promises. They never do.

What gets me is that Barack Obama isn't even President yet and ppl judge him to do foreign policies and so on. Remember President Bush still has the power at the moment to make decisions until the 20th Jan 09.

Sometimes i wonder stupid ppl get on judging him already when he isn't even in office yet
