.....was probably the dumbest ****ing movie Ive ever watched. But once I watch a movie for 5 minutes, I finish it. I could not ever get the point if it was chick flick action crap or just plain poor directing crappy crap but it sucked. What about other epic fail movies exist besides this crap?

It's definitely the kind of movie you do not watch alone, but watch with friends just to laugh at its rediculousness and the fact that you know John Cena put all his heart and soul into the movie but he's just so bad.

Did she really shave her head for the part, cause man I feel sorry for her... At least when Natalie Portman did it she made a good movie.

And Portman actually looked good with the shaven head, though I still prefer her curled.

BTW: we have an entire subforum for this, aptly named : 'The Arts'
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...

Unfortunatley, yes. I am one of those people who wonders what happened if I didnt watch it, even if its the dumbest movie ever. Although there have been some exceptions.

Yeah GI Jane's whole premise is retarded. If they let women into the combat side of the military they DEFINITELY wouldn't start off with the SEALs. Ridiculous. At least Viggo was decent in it =D.

The Marine is easily the funniest movie ever made. Opening scene when he's fighting through the Al Qaeda camp which actually looks like a Russian base in Rambo three he's wearing a WET SUIT. In the middle of the desert in Iraq hahaha. And then when's in the cop car being shot at and he holds up the vest to block all the rounds. Man, we watched that movie and couldn't stop laughing.

The premise was that they enrolled a single woman in the Navy SEALs to prove a point about the toughness of women. It wasn't a general acceptance of women into combat units.

The movie was hilarious though, shot with all the seriousness and patriotic swagger of a Jack Ryan movie while being so inherently absurd. I always thought that Demi Moore's balloon shaped breasts must have been somewhat inconvenient though. Viggo Mortensen makes up for a lot with is overacting as a hard ass instructor.

    @TB666:
Defeatist feeling about it despite US won and characters you didn't give a damn about.
Hell most of the time you had no idea who just got killed and yet the movie wanted you to feel sympathy for them.
Hate war movies that just kill off a guy you don't know and wants you to feel sorry for.
What does that mean, defeatist feeling? The point was that it was an operation gone awry with a high number of casualties. Did you expect some feel good happy end because they got the prisoners they wanted?
I think it's one of the best movies about modern war, in it's depiction and recreation of true events. It is both fairly realistic and not overly patriotic.

19 killed compared to over 1000 somalies killed is in my book a job well done.
Yes the operation went badly but they handled it well, well enough not to warrant a sense that they lost, which they didn't.
It was one of the reasons why the critics and other movie reviewers slammed the movie in Sweden.
That and that there was no characters worth mentioning.

It's a bunch of numbers, no statement on how the mission went. Add in 73 wounded and 3/4 of the Task Force were casualties during that mission. I don't know why the Swedish press is concerned about an American movie not uplifting enough about war, but exactly this somber tone makes the movie, not some gung ho patriotic BS. It was a real operation that got a lot of people killed and in the end had huge political ramifications, leading to the US withdrawing from Somalia. There is nothing to celebrate here.Sorry put frankly that's a stupid reason not to like the movie.

True about the characters, but then this is an attempt to recreate a real life operation that simply involved a lot of men wearing the same uniform. The center stage consequently belongs to the battle and not certain characters in it. Scott even had them draw their names on the helmets, which the real life Rangers didn't do.
