Default Crazy Email from Rock the Vote.

So I got this email today... What do you think of it? I kinda' feel like it's kinda' stupid and ignorant because, though Obama did get a lot of young voters, and he did appeal to I guess supposedly "disenfranchised" people, I don't think he really gave a crap for the young people at all and this is all a bunch of bogus feel good garbage. Do you support Rock the Vote? Do you think Obama reached out to "young people"? Do you think that he actuelly responded to questions from, well, anyone, really? Do you think that the young people demographic actuelly has political clout?

    "Dear Craig,
    You did it.

Yesterday, more young people voted than have ever voted in American history. 24 million young voters.
You took our country into your own hands-- you got registered, you got your friends registered, and you turned out to the polls on November 4th.
    You picked our next president.
I can’t tell you what last night meant to me, to all of us here at Rock the Vote. For 18 years we’ve been telling politicians that if they only took the time and energy to talk to us, to engage us, and to take us seriously, that young people would get involved and vote.
President-Elect Obama did precisely that. He responded to your concerns and questions. He found you on the Internet. He organized on your campuses and in your communities.
And he won because of you. I don’t say any of this because President-Elect Obama is a Democrat, but because he ran a campaign as a democrat, with a small “d.” He ran a campaign that reached out to the young and the traditionally disenfranchised, he organized one-on-one and across the nation, and he talked to and with us about the issues we care about. He ran a campaign based on the democratic premise that our country is run by the people and for the people.
Congratulations to each of you. You made history yesterday. Your hard work, your dedication, and your votes will go down in the books as a momentous event.
And this is just the beginning. Yesterday, we showed them our power. Today, we start work on using that strength to make real change for our country.
    I can’t wait.
Heather and the Rock the Vote Team"

Wow, the youth went for a progressive candidate in religious fashion. Surprising.

This email preys on the naivety of voters just like some of Obama's rhetoric did.

Though of course the cynical among us could very well be proven wrong, we will have to wait and see... But I don't see much in Barack besides a competent politician.

Whatever, I mean all campaign statements really are just so silly and propagandized their's no point criticizing them, it's the nature of our campaigns.

It's like all the rest of this campaign and election, disquieting. I love reminding it. Perhaps someone will listen.

If you don't like Rock the Vote's message, why are you on their mailing list? And you can't deny that they did get a lot of youths out to vote.

    Bleh.

Honestly, Obama is probably better then McCain (especially considering McCain would probably get sick and die midterm, giving power over to that idiot Palin), but he still isn't good. At best he is better then Bush. At worst he is going to screw up the USA (particularly the economy).

And Rock the Vote probably isn't a smart idea. What happens when you take between 1-20 million youth voters, around 80% or so being largely idealistic and uninformed, and order them to vote? Well, at least it was Obama who was the younger more charismatic candidate. He probably would have had a superb showing at least even if he turned into a communistic revolutionary and began demanding the Proletariat's revolution against the Capitalist pigdogs.

State is the name of coldest of all the cold monsters. Coldly it lies; and this slips from its mouth: "I, the state, am the people"
