Divided Kingdom of Poland

Hi all,

I found this wonderful mod just couple days ago. I think that it will be an MASTER of all of modifications for Kingdoms!

OK so, I was reading about Basilei mod and found very good way to describe complicated political situation of Poland in XI-XIII century.

This illustrates the fact that the faction Poland has only limited control over those regions." - very good idea! That exactli was in the middle ages of Poland.

It will be great for all Polish players that we could by self try to unite kingdom. Historicly it was done by Władysław Łokietek coronated in January 1320 in capital city of Kraków. We lost our crown in 1138!
So What do you think about this solution? Personaly for me it's excelent for young patriots

I'm proud that You put the city of Poznań on the map. This was second Polish capital city but another modmakers don't know that. Also Danzig - Gdańsk is very good idea. City of Thorn - Toruń used in all mods was found later:

Mighty good idea! This historical fact should not be ignored. Poland's borders were changing a lot during that era. Now that I think of it, Polish borders changed a lot in almost every era.
All that's left is for the units to have more of a Polish feel.
Though I am curious at how they will make the Commonwealth. Will they merge the factions, or is it through unity and alliance?

If you check out the preview we have kind of represented this situation across the board during the game but certainly it allows us to make this at the game start for any particualr divided faction such as Poland or France. We have autonomous regions which if under a weak ruler with low authority will be likley to rebel. If other factions try to move in on your rebel lands it will be seen as an act of war and even the Pope will threaten to Excommunicate them.

I think there is a great thread about Polish division somewhere here on TWC; probably iside RoE sub-forum. And there is clearly stated (with many examples and presenting numerous historical facts), that Polish feudal division was, to put it in middle words, mediocore when compare to other western kingdoms, such as France or HRE. So I wouldn't do a big deal of it.
