    Default unit command name

in Rome there were names of the legions, for the units including the "command" in EDU. How can we have the names for units to which we add this command line in MTW2 ? thank you for the ideas of yours.

Just as in RTW, it is the dictionary line in the EDU file.

I add command to the unit in EDU. When the unit is recruited in the campgaign it has written "legio" on it. I wonder how it is possible to include the name of the region, province, plus the number, so it looks like "legio XI Venice"

    Cheers

That attribute was called legionary_name in BI, not command.

it is working, as I wrote, I have "legio" appearing to units.

I tried command, legionary_name as in rtw and bi and it is still the same results.

how to obtain the name of the province where they are recruited ? Do you have that working ?

Thank you for helping me people, great appreciations

Open your data/world/maps/base/descr_regions.txt. This should be the first entry:
    Code:
    North_America
        Miccosukee
        aztecs
        Native_Rebels
        212 198 206
        tobacco, coal, america, no_pirates, no_brigands
        5
        3
        religions { catholic 0 orthodox 0 islam 0 pagan 100 heretic 0 }
    Add in the following line:
    Code:
    North_America
        legion: Florida
        Miccosukee
        aztecs
        Native_Rebels
        212 198 206
        tobacco, coal, america, no_pirates, no_brigands
        5
        3
        religions { catholic 0 orthodox 0 islam 0 pagan 100 heretic 0 }
Do this for all regions, giving them a unique name. Then open your data/text/imperial_campaign/imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt file. Add in a string for each legion text entry that you added into your descr_regions - for example
    {Florida}Florida
    And you are done!

by the way, is it possible to make it work without having to start a new camapaign ? Perhaps making a shortcut or a command or another tip i know nothing of ?

Unfortunately, that isn't possible. As a rule, for any fix that you have to delete and regenerate your map.rwm, it will not be savegame compatible.

Having never played BI, I didn't think this sort of thing was possible.
What do you have to put in EDU and where?

#Edit, got that figured. But I have a few questions.
    1) Is it possible to change 'legio' to anything else?
    2) On the Campaign map, at the begining of a new campaign, units placed by descr_strat outside a settlement have just 'legio' whilst those inside have the full description. Is it possible to address this?
    3) Is it possible to make it a faction specific thing? EG, I only want Venice's Italian Spear Militia to have it, not Milan or Sicily?

    1. This is in the exe - so it can't be changed.
    2. Interesting. I retro-added this into my RTW vanilla (with the BI exe) and didn't have that problem.
    3. Unfortunately, this is not possible.
