Now its time for Obama to make the most important choice of his presidency, his cabinet. In my opinion it should be a unity cabinet, due to his campaign idea, and include at least one Republican in the Big Five (Attorney General, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, National Security Adviser and Secretary of Homeland Security).
What I want and think is possible:
Big Five:
Defense - Colin Powell - Republican, supported Obama, has vast military experience and is trusted and loved in the military. Can help him assuage fears of cuts and mistreatment.
State - Ryan Crocker - Not sure of party, current Ambassador to Iraq, former ambassador to: Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Pakistan (hmm... all 5 seem important places right now). Served under the first Bush, Clinton and the current Bush so would serve under Obama. Warned of what would happen in Iraq.
National Security Adviser - Fareed Zakaria - One of the most knowledgeable, intelligent people in foreign policy. He would be a great asset to the administration and is a known moderate.
Attorney General - Though I fear it will be Edwards, I'm hoping Lieberman. This will bring someone from the McCain campaign into the fold and assuage conflict. Realistic though as the Dems want him out of the Senate.
Homeland Security - Stumped here...
Other:
Commerce - Warren Buffet - He's one of the richest man in the world, maybe he can fix any economic troubles.
