Why the Democrats won these elections?

I'm interested to know the opinions of the members (Democrats and Republicans) on why the Democrats won the elections.

Mine are (Most important goes first):
- McCain campaign concentrated on negative comments on Obama (wrong strategy)
- Obama proposed more popular policies and ideas
- McCain is in the Republican party, following Bush administration and people don't like Bush.
- Obama is more charismatic and convinces more people to follow him with speeches and promising change
- Republicans chose Palin as a VP (wrong strategy/big mistake)
- Obama had been seen as more competent to resolve the economic crisis.
- McCain had been seen as old.

Many people do not like Bush
People want the government to fix their problems

Where did Obama get his money? No one knows or ever will. He made financing a joke. i thought the government was supposed to watch over these things.

Private donations. There is absolutely no proof to the contrary. People gave him money because they liked him as a candidate. I know I did. As much as you might hate to admit it, the majority of people in the United States actually like this guy.

For all we know Bin Laden gave him 100 million.

By that logic, for all we know, Osama Bin Laden is having a glass of whiskey and sniffing glue with John McCain's first wife in the bathroom of a Glendale Burger King as we speak. For all we know, John McCain planned the WTC attack that happened on 9/11. For all we know, George Bush and Harry Reid are secret lovers. For all we know, Sarah Palin is the father of her daughter's baby.

Then dems voting in Mc Cain as the Rep candidate and AKORN. And thats just the tip of the iceberg.

More crap. The AKORN thing is just an effort to destroy the President-elect's character based on half truths and lies. The same goes for Ayers and Rev. Wright. As far as the Dems voting in McCain...I'm not sure how you think that is supposed to work.

His agenda was to defeat terrorism by spreading democracy. Where he really messed up was in understanding democracy may not be the best form of government for everyone. He also messed up after making the erroneous conclusion democracy was for everyone by fabricating the reason for spreading it to Iraq.

I seem to remember it the other way around. The Republicans, Dick Cheney in particular, were saying that if Kerry gets elected, we are all doomed. Don't you remember the ad with the wolves? I'm pretty sure you have it mixed up because that was the Republican mantra: elect Kerry and the world comes to an end.

Um my post as was the guy i was replying to was about the forums and posters not the crap that passes for american presidental politics.

This (http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/polit...ers_11-05.html) article discusses a lot of why Obama was able to win like he did. Basically people were fed up with Republicans and poor economy. Now major, permanent shift.

Major, permanent shift in the US? Surely you jest, the coin has been flipped for the white house to the other side but in the end business as usual.

Wasnt my intention cause I agree, frankly Im sick of "the end is coming" since Reagan first took office. The world (or rather the US) didnt end after 8 years of Reagan, didnt end after 8 years of Clinton, hasnt ended after 8 years of Bush and Id say the odds are good things arent going to end in the next 4 years either. Every election of different party in white house ends up with swap of people becoming the guy on the street corner with the sign that WORLD IS ENDING. It gets so boring

Actually, I don't think it is going to be replaced by any political entity either. But I may be wrong.
