Not to mention the fact that very few of the European NATO nations who commit forces to Afghanistan, commit them to combat which is the role that is desperately needed before re-construction. There is plenty of European support for the war in Afghanistan, as long as somebody else is doing the dirty work.

meh, most people dont even understand that Afghanistan and Iraq are two different countries.

(few years ago when i was in 6th form i sat in class with some GCSE students and they thought they were the same thing, that the war on terror was all about killing saddam... and ive had a decent amount of discussions with people that dont actually have a clue but think they do lol.)

Despise people that campaign when they are totally ignorant. That being said, perhaps some believed that after the iraq invasion that the US is evil and corrupt, that the afghanistan mission was thus a lie too...but whatever, hate is a strong word. I merely dislike the US top brass. but then i hate my own country's government with a passion so my dislike for both US domestic and foreign policy doesnt mean much.
The hate talk that occurs here is mostly because of petty immature that, as jimbe mentions, make idiotic and ignorant comments about other people.

Sadam should have been removed in 1881, just ask some Iraqi Shia, Kurds and Chaldean Christians, or haven't you ever known any??

Firstly, the Taliban offered to hand over Osama bin Laden had they been given evidence implicating Osama bin Laden in the 9/11 attacks. However, they were not given the opportunity. Bush was calling for blood.

By the way, if you think Afghans were forced to do what they did under the Taliban, look at the videos from Kabul, Ghazni and Herat now - the women are still wearing their blue veil as they did from centuries before the Taliban came and the men are still sporting beards and wearing their turbans. The fact is that the Taliban were favored by most Afghans who wanted law, order and a sense of social justice - services that the secular regimes as well as puppets-regmies of the USSR and USA never provided for the common Afghan.

About Saddam, he was installed by the CIA and the British so I don't know why they'd want him removed so fast. Men of knowledge in the field (Galloway, Robert Fisk, etc) find it almost comical how the US plays the "democracy and freedom" card in Iraq now given how it has installed dictators such as Saddam, Reza Shah, Zia-ul-Haq and Hosni Mubarak from Egypt to Pakistan.

The ultimate truth is that the common man may want freedom from Saddam, Hosni Mubarak, al-Saud, etc but what he really wants is feedom from Western imperialism.
