    Mc Cain : 23,835,887

    Fox News Coverage

Electoral Votes -OLD NUMBERS fox has set them both to 0

    Mc Cain : 39

    Popular Votes

    Obama : 25,134,470

    Mc Cain : 24,301,043

CNN is not calling Pennsylvania at all yet. They're saying they're only calling states atm where vote results show a clear agreement with earlier exit polls.

Got CNN on all the time right now. It's hard to keep this updated just as fast

This online coverage is sick but I'll probably watch a basketball game so I'm not on cnn/fox for the next 4 hours.
"July 14, 2008: I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

When they call a state that early it is based on more than just the reporting numbers. Each network has insiders, and NBC likely has insiders in Philadelphia who have crunched some early, unofficial numbers, along with demographics, and are confident enough to call it this early.

Some precincts don't necessarily release their numbers to the public right away. The insiders might be privy to them before they are released. Sometimes as much as an hour before.

For NBC to call it this early, they much know something and be awfully confident. They are competing with every other network, and the race is to call states first, but more importantly, call them correctly.

As a Philadelphian, I can say with confidence that Obama had the state locked up as soon as he won the nomination.

no network has received any actual data just yet. It's all based on exit polling as of now.
Sure I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is Im not. I honestly feel that America is the best country and all other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Right. Each network has people in place at the polls who put together as much as they can in order to get their network a leg up. Sometimes they are able to get the official numbers, or even numbers on the fly, that allow them to call a state for their network.

I had it explained to me by a superdelegate. While it is complicated, it actually is a good system and arguably represents the will of the people better than that of a system based on the popular vote.

I have to tell you, I think NBC is the best coverage after watching them all. NBC is really breaking down every precinct in the key states.

I agree completely, I was a little worried with the early Pennsylvania call though. Risky claim(network reputation wise) but some of the other networks have already taken it over so it must be based on something.
