Ave fellow FKoCers. Question: Who or what exactly are the clubmen? I read about them months ago in the previews leading up to release, but have found them no where in game. Can anyone shed some light?

The Canadian Corps: Mount Sorrel, 2nd Ypres, Vimy, Arleux, Hill 70, Passchendaele, Amiens, Hindenburg Line, Canal du Nord, Mons.
REBELS!
"Clubmen were bands of vigilantes during the English Civil War (1642–1651) who tried to protect their localities against the worst excesses of the respective armies of both sides in the war"

They're the rebel faction.

Ahh! Now it all makes sense. "If you offer plunder or to steal our cattle, we will bid you battle" quote makes all sorts of sense now![]()

I have only just fought a band of the rabble and i gotta say they look a hell of a lot better then the standard issue M2TW peasant, like how they actually carry soemthing other then pitchforks for once, that stereotype really needed to go out the TW window so to speak.
"Opinions that come forth out of prejudice and lack of knowledge are always defended most fiercely, often with violence" Unknown (with additions by myself)

Call to arms! An army of 5.000 is needed.
The English Civil War also gave rise to some other factions that were neither fully one side or the other.
The Levellers = Basically a democratic movement that believed all were equal and they therefore submitted to no authority unless they agreed to it. They gave rise to the Agitators who attempted to indoctrinate the New Model Army.
The Diggers= A sort of early communist set up. Non violent they asserted their believed right to "dig" common or unused land to create produce for the community.
Fifth Monarchy Men = They interprereted the dream of Daniel (Bible Daniel Chp7) that there had been four great empires of the ancient world, the fourth being the Roman Empire. They believed this was over thrown by Papacy or as they called it the anti christ. They claimed to be the fifth monarchy which was that empire of Christ that would rule for 1000 years until the last judgement (Bible, Book of Revelation 11-20) they accused Cromwell of taking the crown of Christ and placing it upon his own head.
Some were highly militant attempting risings in london toward the end of the mid 1600's
Just be grateful we only have Clubmen to worry about!

awzc,
I have to agree with you. The point I was really making was that these factions had "jumped on the band wagon" as it were.
Their alligance to one side or the other was purely used for their own ends.
John Lilburne was a man of the moment for example.
But I agree with you, they supported parliament but I believe b they felt that parliament would allow their ideas to flourish and or be listened to.
If they believed the opposition could do better, they would have been for them!
