    Default CTD's

    Hey guys!

CTD's. Any advice how to get around them?

I have reported my CTD (Crash To Desktop) bugs at the "Bugs, etc" topic on top.

But is there a way how to get around it? As you know, i'm playing a very nice campaign with Epirus and I really want to continue it.
I have loaded up the game several times on same savegame, but the CTD's keep coming. Should I load older savegames?
*EDIT*: Loaded an older savegame --> but the CTD's still happens.

It keeps happening on year 261 BC.
As I recall, Magister, you kept playing your campaigns even with the CTD's ( you mentioned that they didnt stop you from playing )....how did you get around a CTD once it started to happen on same year?

Well unfortunatly RedFox said this about the Pyyrhic campaingn.

"You know, the Pyrrhic campaign is acctually unfinished - barely even started working on it. I just finished the map a few months ago and left it at that. Unfortunately, I accidentally included this campaign in a recent update, due to the Subversion server exporting the campaign also...

Anyways, this campaign isn't ready to be played, so I won't accept any bug reports or complaints about this campaign. The map is unfinished, the cities are too few for now and it's overall unbalanced. Play at your own risk."

Well I havent ran into a CTD yet but I play at my own risk am not to far from where you are in the AAR. Though I found it odd that Carthage was that easy for me every two turns there was a new army at my doors.

Yeah, Redfox later told me that things could be sorted out with the new patch. So I should update my Diadochi asap and continue my campaign. I still play on 0929C patch you see.

Lots of CTD's are fixed in the new patch.

Nice to hear your playing Epirus aswell, many things in my AAR probably look familiar to you then. Carthage constantly does naval attacks yea. But their armies are quite weak so far. Lots of Civil Spearmen which are clearly no match for phalanx at all. I havent encountered a real big Carthaginian army yet with elite units.......so worse things might still come.
Keep up the great slaughter, Mathais!

Gargantua, I would be very disappointed to see your epic Epirus camapaign and your AAR seized. So, apply latest patch first and see what happens. And, importantly, keep us informed.

You can go around some some bugs or quick-fix them, but it is not always that simple, unfortunately.

Dont worry, ME! My campaign will continue soon enough! I just installed the new patch and things work smooth again. So the fight starts soon in Makedonia. It will be one helluva great war ( with lots of casualties on Makedonians side, teeheehee ) I hope.
I will probably update 2morrow. I am kinda tired now from Snowboarding at an indoor snowboard hall. See pic below......lol, couldnt resist making this......I know its silly, hehe! But at least I wear my factions colors

Mathais: That was meant as a comment to the Provincial Campaign that appears in xgmD. The so called "Pyrrhic Campaign" is a zoomed in version of the large campaign map, centering around the Hellenic states. Gargantua was playing on the "Imperial Campaign", which includes the great campaign map.

Still, he played on an old patch that had even more unbalanced Carthaginians, so it's no wonder they opposed little resistance.
