Default Your favorite dirty political trick?

I thought we might entertain ourselves in the last few hours before this loooong election season ends by everyone reciting what is the funniest dirty political trick they have heard of?

I read this morning of an email going out, with the official state seal on it, Virginia I believe it was. In the letter it says election officials are anticipating such an overwhelming turnout that all Republicans should vote on Tuesday and all Democrats on Wednesday!!!

My favorites are ridiculous ad campaigns that seem to happen every year right before election so they cant be refuted for instance:

in my state MA we have a ballot question on whether to eliminate the state income tax the current very strongly funded campaign against it's ads say that if it passes then property taxes will go up(anything over 2.5 percent needs a vote by the community) the ad closes by saying vote no on question 1 say no to higher property taxes!

Not only is it blatently false its also totally irrelevant.
"July 14, 2008: I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."

The one thing people always care about is money! Throw some tax-fear their way, and they'll vote for whichever is the opposite. Why do you think McCain has been chamioning Joe the Plummer so much? Why do you think the Liberals lost so badly in the last Canadian election. Misconceptions about higher taxes for the win.

I think the dirtiest trick is bigging up the other guy. That way you look modest and sincere and then if you loose you'll have saved face.

I don't have one favourite trick per sé. But I think Lee Atwater's management of the Bush Sr. campaign was almost brilliant. Despicable, but brilliant.

And it's not just that campaign. It's the legacy it left behind. It defined Republican campaigning up to this day.

My most hated dirty trick is the telephone interviews that ask if you have heard (insert any outragous lie) and do you believe this is good? Next question -- Are you aware that (insert name) believes in (insert some vaguely related position that is not really the first lie, but sounds like it).

    Then asking for an opinion.

The autodial prerecoded message is my next hated tactic.

Third is the poorly photocopied piece of hate left on the doorstep when no one is looking.

Somehow, I do not feel any better after writing this out. Hmmm.

That Jesus said that Obama is the anti-christ. I can find no reference in the Gospels. If the silly sollog was referring to the revelation of St John, well St John wrote it, and no he did not refer to Obama in any way. Fits any definition of blasphemy.

Funny how the thread closed down once I mentioned who the source was.

Saying/implying I am a Democrat and voting Republican or visa versa, or not voting at all which I have only done once, or was it twice.
