I get a ctd after siegeing a city with 2 armys. Once the battle is over I select occupy or sack or what have you but as soon as i select an option the game crashes on me. Anyone have a solution?

Yes, please use a search in the future, this is the reinforcement CTD. If the enemy tries to lift the siege and you take the settlement, it will CTD. Defeat the reinforcement army away from the settlement to avoid the CTD.

Usually, if you completely destroy all armies on the battlefield the game will not get the 'refinforcement CTD' - as there are no survivors from the AI side!

That's not the only case in which this happens though. In my experience if your PCs memory is clogged up and it's starting to struggle with the game it can often take a long time to adjust to you taking a city or even CTD. I save before each battle just in case it decides to crash on me.
After years of playing RTW based mods I finally managed to get the 'reinforement CTD' about a month ago. It was very annoying to get as I could not get around the problem and had to abandon the campaign. This is on my monster rig - Vista 64 bit with 8Gb memory.
When I play RTW based mods it's usually for hours at a time - up to about 10 hours (with breaks away from the PC).
