rtw not working

after I instail BI the bace rtw deos not work.
What i do is click the shortcut it comes up go to the main menue choces a fraction after that the screen geos black and it said Rome total war has stopped working.

What version of RTW have you installed and what folder did you install it to?

Are you using Vista or XP? If you are using Vista have you done anything about User Access Control (UAC)?

I have vista
the version of rtw is 1.5. I installad it into the creative asembly folder.

the version of bi is 1.6 i installed it to the same folder as rtw

Have you done anything with UAC (User Access Control)? (Have a read of the first and last link in this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=167821 .)

I doubt that your problems are caused by UAC though. It sounds like something went wrong with the install.

Make sure that you add the -show_err switch to the shortcut target. (To see how this is done have a look at the bottom of the first post in this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60685 ). This may return an error message when the game closes.

Make sure that RTW is still 1.5 after you install RTW BI. Sometimes RTW BI downgrades RTW from 1.5 to 1.3. The version number of the game is shown on the top right hand side of the options menu.

Did RTW 1.5 work OK on your machine?

before I installed BI RTW worked fine. I cheked the version of RTW it said V 1.5


ps. The prolong works fine and when I unintall BI RTW works fine

What are the titles of the RTW and RTW BI games called? For instance RTW Gold, RTW Gold II, RTW Eras etc. The following post lists details of various versions of RTW (it may help).

Where did you get your copies of the game?

Are either of them steam downloads?

OK, then it appears that 'something' is not working when you've installed RTW BI. Were there any error messages?

Can you confirm that you've added the -show_err switch to the shortcut?

It the RTW that not working

Try going to the RTW files and typing in "Launch.exe"
