Default Why Would You Vote For McCain?

Seriously, I'm not messing, why would you actually vote for McCain? I'm a political noob at best but I always thought that in an election the people were suppoes to vote for who they think is the better candiate and not who slags the other off the most. From what I've seen on the news and such, all McCain has done is bad mouth Obama. He seems to be constantly saying Obama will destroy the country this way and Obama's policy is wrong here but he very rarely, if ever, says what his own policies are.

I've been fighting for this country since I was 17 - McCain
Your point being? That doesn't tell anyone what you'll do as president

Obama's economic policy will ruin this country - McCain (obviously not exact quote)
Wow, thats interesting, care to explain how? Also, can you tell us how you will deal with the economy?

Now, from Ireland, I'm just an outsider looking in but from speechs and interview etc. All I've seen McCain do is insult and bad mouth Obama where as Obama has actually said what he is going to do when he becomes president. So it leads me to the question, are people actually voting for this idiot McCain, or are they just voting for the Republician party?

I am also an outsider, but I seriously don't know.
    I find both incompetent.

    Obama:
We need change to change the change and to give hope to the hope and it will change the change.
Also I find him too socialist.

    Mcain:

Well, the McCain campaign has been mostly attacking Obama. The Obama campaign has been mostly saying what Obama will do and taking occasional stabs at McCain.

These elections are mostly about Obama (And a bit about Palin ).
Either Obama wins, or Obama loses.
It's not Obama wins or McCain wins. McCain is just the guy that will be president if Obama loses.

Also: Democrats have been attacking Palin and Republicans have been defending Palin.

    Elections 2008:
Democrats: Vote for Obama because he'll be a good president, etc etc. Don't vote for that other guy (what's his name again?) because... Palin will be his vice president! And she'll be a bad vice president, etc etc.

Republicans: Don't vote for Obama because he'll be a bad president, etc, etc. Vote for that other guy (We think he's called McCain, or is it Joe the Plumber?) because... Palin will be his vice president! And she'll be a good vice president (no arguments why) despite the mud the Democrats are throwing on her.

Obama isn't an American citizen; he was born in Kenya;hence, he is not eligible
to be president. The U.S. will end up like Zimbabwae.

Why Would You Vote For McCain?
To sooner bring about the revolution.

Honestly though I'd say the same about Obama (Why vote for him?); both of these guys are conservative capitalists.

"I'm for gay civil unions." Really, Senator Obama? We're stunned by your brave leadership...

That's strangely the briefest yet best description of this stupid election i've seen so far!

    Indeed.

I seriously had someone today try and tell me that Obama was the most liberal senator there is. Seems unfortunately so many people have been caught up in his "change, change, we love change (but i'm not actually gonna do anything different)" spiel that they've lost sight of the facts.

LOL! This is incredibly funny because:

The OP asked why you vote for John McCain, citing that all John McCain does is attacking Obama but doesn't say any of the things he will change.

Guess what you, a supporter of McCain does? Attack Obama.

The only argument for McCain that I've seen thus far, is that he's not Obama. Pretty deep...

Well I will not be voting this election but the argument for Mccain is he is anti corruption has solid plans for health care, the economy and has a lot foreign policy experience also he is relatively centre in an increasingly polarized nation who has views both sides can agree with.

you ARE a politcal noob. Noone wants to hear what mccain wants to do. He has no chance of winning if he says what he wants to do because hes already said most of it and it doesnt interest anyone. I dont mean to say obamas skill is lacking for this, But when Mccain aired the ad that showed obama being roughly the same as a pop star or paris hilton he had a point. The media loves a black man. Whos a democrat when the republicans have had a really bad 8 years and hes a liberal, again a media + point and its virtually impossible to beat his policies because theyre exactly what people want to hear- spend more cash , stop drilling , free healthcare for everyone (Mccain wants to spend more cash too though, but not on the same degree) tax cuts for everyone except the rich who get a nominal insignificant tax increase to make people think obama can somehow balance the budget by squeezing the rich. In other words obama is a lot more populist then mccain. The only strategy mccain can use is to try and discredit obama. Its his 5% chance of victory instead of a 0.5%.
Not to mention everyone is already sick of hearing policy, they heard policy for each of the party heads , and the other possible presidential nominees, most people that are cemented on obama wouldnt even give mccains policies a chance. But they might if they think obama might not be that great.
And theres people who just dont believe any political promises that are ever made. What they believe is what they see. and they see that obama is vastly popular worlwide, a garunteed benefit, and there will be a ton of free resources from africa for this too probably. Its just a 100% chance of something "good" happening and they dont really care about policy because they dont believe it. But imagine if obama is a muslim(mccain doesnt claim that though) or the antichrist(not that either) or is a communist (That sort of) that would be a scandal, i dont know if people worldwide would hate him for being found out a communist or something but a muslim? Europe would hate him, The middle east arab countries would laugh and think they can do whatever they want. americans would riot. If people think theres even a potential chance he could be one of those things they might vote against him.

Why you would vote for McCain:
    - You are staunchly conservative and cannot stand the thought of a liberal running the country, despite 8 years of failure from the conservative government.
    - You are a single issue voter, and if so, likely conservative, and thus despite Obama having better plans, you vote for McCain on principle on issues like abortion.
    - You live in the Bible Belt.
    - You are racist (if you live in the Bible Belt, you probably are).
    - You are from Arizona or Alaska.
    - You think this is the same McCain who ran in 2000 (he's 180ed since then and sold out so he could win the nomination).
